Plasti Dipped my emblems. This stuff is awesome!

I gotta say, I was skeptical about spraying the contents of a $7.99 bottle all over my brand new C63 but wow am I impressed. Started small with the logo and emblems, and the chrome fog light surround. My next endeavor will be the grille and window trim (possibly). For all the skeptics out there this stuff works great. I will also be blacking out my wife's FX35 trim and insignia also! Enjoy the pics.

And my next project....

You don't need to really mask with plasti-dip, you mask a square around the emblem, and just peel it off. It comes off the paint, but stays stuck on the emblem, no razors or anything, just peel:

Looks good man!

Thanks guys! Yup no taking emblems off. You do them right on the car itself.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
That's good info...esp not having to remove them from the car. How do you remove that coating later?

Best DYI mod for under $10. Do the matte black cars come with black out window trim and grill. If you don't wrap the star, you can do the grill yourself, otherwise a shop has to do it. The door trim is a snap.

No as good from chrome window trim...too big an area. Wrap them with 3M automotive tape. It's pretty easy to take the trim off.

works great but the color fades away. And if you detail your car, be careful because if you get any residue on it, it will stick to it, then you will have to repaint. Not that bad considering how easy it is to paint it again.

Nice, do you think this can be used on the chrome strip in the bumpers and doors? (outside thin)

Sorry, I realized that 55 & E63 have these, not C

Looks great! I did the emblems on my wifes car and did get some over spray in a couple places. All I had to do was take a clean rag and wipe it off. Worked extremely well.

looks good. i wish there was a way to get the chrome on the emblems and door handles to have the "brushed" look like on the door trim.

looks so much classier. i dont know why they didnt make all the chrome look that way.

In doing a search I found this thread - seriously? You just spray it right on the car and it doesn't adhere to the paint??? Sounds awfully scary... Looks awesome. How are the emblems holding up? Can the front grill also be done right on the car?

Check out YT videos...it's essentially spray-on vinyl.

Yeah, I'm probably going to plasti-dip my emblems, badges and grill when I get my BS in a month+.

Yes, it's that easy, people do entire cars with this stuff. Check out www.dipyourcar.com

Yes, that's the beauty of it, you can peel it off anytime you want and no damage underneath.
