most headers are designed for LHD (left hand drive) cars.... USA, German tuners etc...

I am a little concerned about pulling the trigger on headers for a car located here in Asia (RHD)....

Just buy the LHD headers and have them modified. I'm sure you have plenty of guys where you are who can do that. What exactly is the major design difference? To accommodate the steering rack ?

Yes the problem is fitting it round the steering column. Just not sure what modifying it would entail or whether this would screw up the flow of that bank of headers or what. I just don't know enough about it.

A little knocking / bending definitely would be needed....

My car is RHD and at the end I ended up with iPE headers.

They are not true long tubes, they are more like equal length/mid length headers but for RHD this is probably one of the best and few options available.

I put 200 cell HJS cats right after the collector and than connected to a full Akrapovic Evolution system. Then I went for MHP V3 ECU tune.

I am quite pleased with the end result regarding sound and especially power.

Car just pulls, pulls and pulls...

dleung22, which vendor did you buy the iPE header from?

This is definitely my next power upgrade part I'm lusting for. I also prefer to bolt on the part designed for a RHD vehicle, rather than vague descriptions of "modification required to fit RHD".

Look, whatever you have to do to get them to work will be FAR better than the OEM log manifold. so there's a little cutting and welding to get them to fit. perhaps all the will need is a little bending and you lose 5mm of overall inside diameter - big deal. any shop with skills and a mandrel bender could do it for a nominal cost and I say that in relation to the rest of your cars. that will cost you peanuts compared to a custom RHD set of one off's. I think we can agree on that and if there is any loss in flow as a result of modifying LHD headers it will never be noticed compared to your OEM logs.
Hey, I like things perfect. almost to a fault. But you obviously have limited options so you have to do a cost benefit analysis and see what makes the most sense. Unless you have money to burn (which apparently you do ) then just send the car to Holden

I would start from scratch rather than modify them. I think it would probably be cheaper and you would have a better product. The left side could be used probably straight away but the right side would probably have to be completely redone. If you do not have anyone to do it for you in your area you can make a model of what you want and send it in to be produced. Look at Stainless Headers Mfg. http://www.stainlessheaders.com/customheaders

Guys, anyone looking for LTH for RHD cars can call defillipo exhaust in Melbourne, they have some LTH in stock and cost about $1600-$1700. www.dpe.net.au
