Could be any of the following.

- The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty
Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.

- There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor
- Possible cracked vacuum or PCV line/connection
- Faulty or stuck open PCV valve
- Failed or faulty oxygen sensor (bank 1, sensor 1)
- Sticking/plugged or failed fuel injector
- Low fuel pressure (possible plugged/dirty fuel filter!)
- Exhaust leak between engine and first oxygen sensor

I had that code once and I know what it is. Your injectors are dirty. Empty your fuel tank nd add a fuel additave(available at your dealer), fill her up, consume it, and when it empties again, just do it again. Therefore, you will be doing it twice. You will be good to go!

I understand. I had that same code. Also gave me a misfire message. Do what I told you and let me know what happens

I wouldn't worry as long as the car continues to run fine. Bring it to the dealer and let them diagnose it. You're still under warranty?

It's a generic/common code that could be one of many things I listed in my previous post. I had the same code over a year ago and it was diagnosed as a stuck PCV valve by the dealership.

Try it yourself for now. If it doesn't work, then just take it to the dealer on Thursday. You got three days. Try it.

Ok so now when i drive the throttle feels alot heavier under load and the car is not responding as quickly. When i checked the codes earlier it said it was misfiring, so im guessing now it finally caught up with the car. Can misfiring damage the motor and how bad? i have to wait 3 more days before i can drop it off to the service to get it looked at.

UPDATE:

Took out the Airboxes and bought some MAF cleaner. Sprayed them out real good and guess what as soon as i started the car, CEL is OFF..Lets see how long it lasts. Must have been alot of dirt and dust in there to trigger the CEL. Glad its off now. About to go for a test drive and see how the throttle responds..

Car Runs like a champ again. Hopefully it will stay this way now. Guess it will need a occasional cleaning of the MAF sensor.

Search this forum for CEL problems. I was plagued with a brand new car for months...two different issues too lengthy to repeat here.

Over-oiling K&N filters caused it, maybe?

agreed, 09's had issues with removing charcoals and seems to be finicky with K&N filters. If you have a set of K&N make sure you blow them out with air first..

Dang, lol, can't catch a break here. The thread is unclear to me as to whether he went to the dealer or pulled the code himself with a different scanner, and if so, which one. Sheesh.

I am using my Samsung Galaxy Note, and the Android torque software does almost everything.

You can just get and OBD2 tool with bluetooth embedded and it will work with Android Torque software on Android phones

I went and bought a Pocket size scanner at Advance Auto to Pull the Code. Then returned the scanner. I bought MAF cleaner and sprayed the MAF sensors out well and CEL went right away. No Issues reported, its been a good week now of hot weather and rain.
