Would I be a poser if I painted my calipers red?

lol, i have never once seen Mitsubishi with painted calipers. i would agree with you if your idea of mercedes is the low trim level model. however, when I think of MB, i think DTM, AMG and aggressive torque. tastefully done caliper jobs with a clear coat and the AMG sticker look fantastic. additionally, I see non-asian imports with them regularly (ferarri, porsche, maserati, etc) (and mini's!) not to mention stock AMG models.. so I think your line of reasoning is bizarrely flawed.

Short answer no but I think red is done. I have a black 63 and was thinking of lime green to be different, sounds bogus I know but surprisingly looks really good. As long as you use a caliper paint and prep correctly you should not have any problems, I have done it myself and it lasted until I sold the car.

As a P31 owner, I personally like the red calipers best on black and I feel like they match the tail lights and give the car a little more pop, without too many colors going on. I'd choose black with red lettering too!
No you're not a poser if you do this--paint the calipers red, buy the OEM P31 steering wheel and CF trunk spoiler if you want to be a poser

we're enthusiasts. We mod our cars, be it cosmetic or performance. We want our cars to look, feel, achieve a bit more than what the factory version is.
if by doing so, you think we 'dumb' down the car I'm puzzled. Specially painting calipers, I seriously do not think any brand of vehicle can lay claim to that. But hey, everyone lives with their own biases. that's what makes us unique![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
to OP, red is very nice. I am personally thinking yellow myself but it'll be determined after I find some shoes for the car
