Extended warranty help

My car has about 1,000 miles before it is out of warranty, was wondering if there is any good third part warranties out there?

I did a little research/googling a while ago and had trouble finding any company that had consistently good/great reviews. I really dread the idea of having to argue with some nitwit for coverage on a warranty claim so just decided to pay the premium for the MB warranty ... paying for piece of mind I guess.

MB warranty is also refundable which sealed the deal for me ... bought the 3yr/50k.

...

How much though?

I saw someone posted they paid (last month) less than 5k for extended warranty and 1,800 for wheel and tire plus warranty.

I paid (two days ago) almost 6k for extended warranty and 2,650 for wheel and tire.

Also thinking location might affect it.

I paid $5k for the 3yr/50k warranty from a MD dealer. I was quoted same price by 3 different dealers in the DC/VA/MD area.

AAA Mid-Atlantic wanted ~$3k for 3yr/36k.

So can you buy warranty at any MB dealership and get work done at your local dealership?

yes, that is my understanding. it is an MB warranty, not a dealership warranty.

I've been doing research on this as I'm in the market for an almost out of warranty 2009 C63. The one to get is the MB Extended Limited Warranty (ELW). It's essentially an extension of the factory warranty (but slightly more limited?) from what I understand. I believe it's more expensive than Third Party Warranty's, but it's also got no deductible, and there's no need to get repairs "approved" first since you'll be doing them at an MB dealership, by MB (or AMG techs), and they can just pull up the warranty on their system just like a new car warranty.

Could be mistaken, but this is what I've gathered so far.

yes you are correct. ELW is the one to get as the first 2 years of ELW (so year 5 and 6) are very similar to factory warranty on new cars. the 7th is more limited.
