Irwindale 1/8 mile

Went to the drag strip this past week with my pretty much stock 2009 C63, only mod is secondary cat delete. It ran pretty good, weather was around 70F-80F, good traction from my street tires at 27psi. Ran a couple 8.2@87mph passes with my personal best being 8.15@87mph with a 60ft of 1.89.

Wow fellow Iriwindale drag racer. When are you going back? Maybe we can meet up. How were the lines?

Check out my video. I went out there when they finally opened.

Yeah, would definitely like to meet up on my next time out there. This was my first time in the AMG, Weistec was there that night. They brought a 1000hp CLK63 BS and a supercharged C63.

Traction was great until nightfall, then I couldn't hook up. Looking to get a tune then going back, I was trying to break into the 7s but failed haha.

You'll get into the 7's with a tune easily. When are you planning on going back out?

Good job. I would love to meet up and go with you guys sometime.

I went there once with my previous car, an 09' C63. Only mods I had were BMC filters and ROW boxes.

The weather was pretty good. It was about 67-71* F, a little over 30% humidity, and DA was approximately 750 ft about sea level.

I made 3 runs, with the 1st run being my best: 8.18 @ 88 mph, with 1.90 60'. My rear tires were Hankook V12's, but I didn't lower psi. I had 2/3's tank of 91 octane.

Did you see the CLK run? If so, do you recall the times/traps?

I'm not sure yet, I usually go when my friend does, I will definitley post here before I leave next time. Are you planning to go back soon? I really want to take it to Fontana, but those jerks decided to close down.

I didn't see the CLK run but my friend saw it and said it ran 6.xx

Surely 1/8 mile feels way to short?

I'm going to wait till the weather gets a little better.

Yes it's short but we have no other choice right now. All the 1/4 mile tracks are closed. Irwindale is open every Thursday, the 1/4 mile tracks will only be open 1 maybe 2 times a month when they open back up.

Of course your testing as otherwise how would your car be going as fast as it is. You try something and it works you stick with it. If it dosent work you do something different.

Perhaps you could give us your definition of testing.

I am not on the west coast for several more weeks....maybe try Jim as I have no idea on his schedule.

I would say they were probably there more for sales and exposure than testing. It looks like a busy event.

To the OP: How many passes did you get to make?
