Personal Question - Why do people sell their C63's so Soon
Hey fellow AMG'ers,
I have recently placed an order on the 2013 C63 AMG Sedan and was a bit shocked/taken back by the amount of people selling their cars for almost brand new or less than 2 years of ownership.
This made me wonder why? I know it’s a bit personal, but would anyone like to share or provide any insight as to why someone would let go of his or her brand new C63?
Would it be for mechanical issues, financial constraints (maintenance, finance/lease terms), the lack of "fun" factor, etc.?
Thank you!
P.S. I cannot wait for my 2013 to arrive later this fall. My configuration for the 2013 Sedan is:
Black/Black MB-Tex (love the standard seats over the leather but will miss the memory function)
Twin Spoke Wheels
Keyless Go
Multimedia
Lighting
LSD
Driver Assistance Package (looking forward to the distronic plus w/pre safe) Not sure how the front MB star emblem will look on a black car...I know it will be different due to the sensors up front
Best Regards,
Sunny

Mr. Patel
Since it debut with the 6.2 in 2008 I can clearly see changes made to the car almost every 2 years. 2010 was the AMG development package with extra HP and 2012 was the refreshed interior / exterior.
I doubt that its because of the financial constraints since everyone who has moved on has moved on to a similar / better performance.
Lease could be one of it. But then again, its pretty common with people to have leased cars when the sticker prices starts to exceed 60-70k.
Congrats on your purchase.

Easier and cheaper than changing women (at least for me, I'm married) New cars provide some of the same endorphins and excitement as any new romantic relationship! Ooooh those four shiney tailpipes, they're calling my name right now---sorry gotta run
Congrats on your new ride

The ONLY reason I traded my C63 was because I only have enough space for ONE car at the moment, other wise I would DEFINITELY keep my very unique C63. I still miss it you know.

I think if you drive a lot or expect a low maintanece car this isn't for you. Especially if your the type of person that worries about running costs etc. I do not drive often and still have less then 1,000 on my 2011. But I enjoy every minute of ownership of this car. It's big enough to take some friends (I got the Sedan) as well as to have fun in. Like the common theme you gotta pay to play. Lots of people buy these cars and the costs starts to kill them in the long run thats why they get rid of them.

Many enthusiasts are car ****** and like something new every couple of years. Changing cars = a little $$. Changing wives = 1/2 your $$. Therefore, change cars to keep things interesting

Definitely to the personal restraint. I easily did a quarter of that on a typical weekend day.

Did my first 1000 in a week and my work is only 3 miles round trip, just wanted to drive anywhere and everywhere with anyone.
Ive calmed down quite a bit since then. Annually I do between 10-12

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
I kept my 2009 C63, I just keep tuning, tweaking , CF ing etc! It keeps it from getting old. When I get bored with it, I drive my 2012 tuned CLS 63.

@Z63amg...that means that you are still breaking her in You have not even had time to unleash the beast
Do you still have the new car smell??

Yea unfortunately she still has less than 1,000 miles I think like 875 miles to be close. The car is actually in Boston and I don't drive her to often. She is at least secure in a temperature controlled garage that is hard to break in to. I bought her in May. It's my job that keeps me on the road a lot and actually when I am home. I enjoy washing and waxing her. Detailing cars for me is theraputetic I don't know why but it is. Also yes she still has the new car smell.

When I am home it's usually for 2-3 days and usually I am getting caught up on errands. But I don't regret buying her at all. Boston is small so basically you can drive across the whole city at speeds of 35mph and never rack up more then 5 miles. I think she has gone above 60 maybe like 3 times since I picked her up and a couple of other times around Boston. I asked the MB dealer if that would hurt it by not taking her higher speeds and he said no.

Z63amg, fall is coming, time to her on weekend up north, if you do not run her, it is like having beautiful wife and not making love her.

This couldn't be more true. The problem is the wife doesn't like it.

On my last one I had to go in for service once every 5-7k miles, all minor issues some of which could of waited for regularly scheduled service.
Current one its been in twice in 10k miles 1 time for the LSD oil change, then the 1 year service.

Its the people who dont drive the car that have the problems, your engine seals get messed up form not driving it... I dont get why you are wasting the car, even Ferrari owners drive more than that.. Go drive it. You are losing 15% a year in value anyway.
