C63 Service Costs **AUSTRALIA**
Hi MBWORLD Aus Chapter,
Could you give me some costs associated to servicing the C63 from your previous run-ins with the Stealerships?
Also any other extras that you were not expecting and so forth.
Many thanks.

So far I've only done oil as I may have told you. Just bought the oil and took it to a garage shop mate of mine who did it for free.
Other cost was LSD oil change but I guess this won't concern you..

First A service at 12 months about $500. First B service (at 2 years) was about $800. No "additional" work though I fitted new tyres and got a wheel alignment on separate visit - about $180 all up (I supplied the tyres). All work through the Sydney MB dealer that I bought the car from.
These costs are "in the ball park" of what I was paying to service my previous M3 at an independent "we-service-only-BMW" outfit in Sydney.
I am sure you can get quite a bit of variation among dealers if you shop around but I have been pleased with the service I get at the dealer I go to, they seem to know their stuff and fit in with my schedule etc so I am happy to pay a bit extra for this.
(And at risk of starting the whole dealer versus non dealer versus DIY servicing debate all over again I found with my BMW that in rip off Sydney at least the quality independent outfits have pretty much closed the gap on dealer prices these days while DIY is not worth my time and effort and all the logistical issues I would face)!!

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
I will go to my selling dealer, as long as he does the right thing, & looks after the car. At the moment all is good, I've made contact with an AWESOME customer service adviser who is a car "nut", & seems to know exactly what I want.
Cheers, Pickles.

Service costs
Just had my 4 year B service done. The car has 30,000kms on it.
They advised the front brake pads would not last until the next service, so, I told them to replace them.
All up, the service and the pads cost me $1,950.00
This was done by MB Sydney.

You guys are crazy if your buying these parts from MB Australia... In the US they only pay 200 a pair for rotors!!!
I bought pads and Rotors for my ISF which were quoted by Lexus Australia @ over 2,400 after sourcing the parts from Tirerack.com the bill totaled 650 shipped to my door.
You have to be very well off to shy away from the savings of sourcing parts independent of the dealer.
500 - 800 for a full service is not too bad IMO and would expect this if not shy of 1,000 for a MB AMG service.

Any of you around Sydney city should look up JV auto at Botany, honest, very good service and pricing with our cars. The owner I think use to be a service manager for MB Sydney and I believe are dealers for OE Tuning also.

If you buy the car under a corporate plan (that is you start a small company and do a group buy with us locals) then servicing for 3 years is free.
They suck you in as individuals and then take you for a tidy sum. The trick is to operate as a club with massive buying power.
I volunteer to setup a parts and buying club with 2 other people in Sydney. I already have 3 or 4 diagnostic setups.

If you guys in Australia are not talking to
- IMPARTS
- Silver Star Spares
- HSY (Hanvic South Yarra)
Then you are just tearing up $100 notes. I bought two parts the other day for $91 that listed for $350. It was a CPS and Fuel Filter.
Make sure you buy as a workshop and not Joe Citizen.

Brighton Motors in Melbourne used to be great but a change of management saw them become more expensive than the local stealership!
I used Ammstar for last service and currently waiting on a price for A2 service from them.
Always pays to ask for a quote. Your local stealership are usually smart enough to work out that if you are asking for a quote, they are going to have to give you an incentive to go with them.
FCP Euro are excellent for importing parts with great shipping costs (shipping often being the deal breaker).

1st oil change $46 - 2x 5QT Mobil 1 0W-40, $20 OEM Filter, $80 Mitivac Pump = $146
2nd oil change $46 - 2x 5QT Mobil 1 0W-40, $20 OEM Filter = $66
3rd = $46 cause of the left over oil from the last 2 changes.
Very cheap.

The Mobil 1 runs at around A$100.00 for 5 litres in Australia so we have to spend A$200.00 (US$161.00) to buy 10 litres and have a little left over. Makes A$500.00 for an A service look not quite so bad. Ye,s we get reamed.
