question about h&r springs
So their distrubutor here in chantilly va quoted me 475+45 for some part. And 550 for installation and labor? Can you guys chime in on how much it cost for installation or how much you payed for the springs?

That sounds about right for the East Coast. If you were in the West Coast; you could go to FX Autodesigns, and get the Coil Springs and installation for $450.00

It's bull how these cars are so expensive to mod. All my friends with m3's and 335's spend less than half what we have to spend on mods and they get more gains out of them too. Pay to play? More like get robbed to play.

It takes about 7 hours to do a complete spring install (6 on the rear and 2 on the front) So whatever there hourly rate is that should give you an idea of how much it cost on labor

That actually sounds more reasonable thank you! Guess ill just find another shop that can do it, 550 still seems absurd if you ask me. Autofunktion in sterling quoted me 1200 lol idk why i even asked them after they told me its 3300 in labor to install headers.

To be honest with you, 550 isn't too bad, the rears are a POS and reason for being so expensive, I am sure that you wont find much cheaper than that

lol, the rears take about 1/2 hr each side if your prepered. By prepered I meen, you have the torx sockets & 2 extra inner lower table bolts, part # 003-990-26-05. When removing them they butted up against the exhaust so I cut them & then was able to remove the rest & install the new one from the opposite side, real easy when you have the tools

I just think VS Motorsports just lost their credibility. I need to check my estimating system on Mon. From what I can tell, the rear should take less time than the fronts and do not need the use of a spring compressor. I think it would take a noob 1.5 per side once tools are gathered. I don't think anything is a PITA once you have done an install on a MKV GTI where you have to drop axles.
