Talking 2012 C63 SEDAN - H&R SPRINGS, PLASTIDIP FORGESTARS AND LED'S

Well, got the springs on and I can't say enough about them, and haven't even put enough miles on yet to get to thoroughly know them.

Ride a bit stiffer than stock, but you can not tell a lot - I personally love the new feel. Turn-in is amazing now, no more sloshy suspension feel and the car just feels amazingly sprung - has definitely brought life to it.

Otherwise, the car is filthy - my apologies. Took the plunge and decided to try this plastidip nonsense. Have to say, comes out pretty damn nicely, and is really fun to spray and peal... Want to powdercoat my wheels black, and this is a great way to get a realistic preview without losing an arm and a leg on the cost of painting the wheels up-front. While I was at it, I also sprayed the front LED chrome housings and the 6.3 emblem behind the front tires...everything came out PERFECTLY, but decided I like the 6.3 badge too much to cover it up. Contemplating removing the stuff off the DRL LED's.

BTW, haven't noticed any rubbing yet.

Cheers!

Love the black fog LED!! The drop is a bit too low, but if it doesn't rub it's all good.

As for the wheels, I would leave them gunmetal.. Too dark for my taste. Great job!

Nice drop. The title says coilovers and the post says you got springs - which one is it then?
Looks great but I would leave the wheels gunmetal
Also I think You need some spacers in the front.
The rear wheels are pretty flush with the fenders but the fronts seem tucked in.

^^ really only springs? Wow, that is slammed for H&R.. Much lower than pre-facelift C63. I was going to say raise it a bit.. Lol

Thanks...thinking about putting it back to chrome though...changes the look of the front end in real life. still debating.

The drop honestly is not bad at all. I think the pictures make it worse than it is, but don't get me wrong, you are 100% correct that the stance has drastically changed.

Yeah, I really want to do them black, but also love the way they are now..just stuck on what to do. Damn mod bug.

Yeah, don't know if I trust spacers...in retrospect, I wish I had ordered the fronts with a 37 or 40 offset instead of the factory 45...

Yup...I think it's perfect. The big question comes when I have 4 people in the car.

I'm getting ready to drop mine on h&r's. I just purchase the 17mm sprig pads from my local dealer. That drop since lower than usual, I wonder what made it look lower.

I don't know...maybe it's the 19'' wheels?

What's the thickness of the stock spring pads?

I refer to her as my second wife....lol

Won't do tail lamps for liability reasons, although I do agree that it would look good.

thanks guys! will consider re-spraying the LED's, but IMO, it changes the look of the front end...can't explain it.

I also plasti-dipped the front foglights. Made a huge difference. I agree, can't exactly put my finger on it but it just did. I like the way mine look so I've kept them black.

home the point
I prefer the original gunmetal rims but good call on blacking out the fog light housing. How come you didn't do the window trims?

honestly, because I like the chrome on the windows...also, it would be much better to put vinyl on instead of plastidip since the chrome extends below the rubber seal
