I live in Aurora, Oakville would be a drive
I had a A4 Quattro before, and used the Hankook iPike, they were okay, but I expected more from a Winter tire with AWD, so decided to try another brand, now the issue is the type!
The problem is that Allen's prices are hard to beat, can find anyone around that can come close so I always go to him.

That might well be but imo safety is not something that should be taken lightly. A good winter tyre is crucial if you live in a place with a lot of snow and icy roads. If we put down 70k usd...or more...then a set of winter tires should not be an issue. 0.02

Got the Hankook Evo iCept 310s. Great value for a performance Winter tire. For your C250 (assuming non-4matic) you can get away with the X-Ice if you don't need Performance on dry. Considering our snowfalls (we will have more this year, but still the roads are usually dry-ish) then you are probably still looking at a performance tire. I can't say much about Bridgestone's except that I did like their Pole Position all season performance. The Hankook 310's are great on dry, (better than my Pirelli oem Four Seasons which were worn out) but I have yet to test the 310s on the snow/ice since it's early November. I based much of my decision on CR's raving reviews and the price was right.
The Nokian's are well liked but pricey - not sure about wear on the Hakkapeliitta's but my wife's WGR2's are wearing rapidly due to all-year driving.
Conti's are making a come back from being the OEM tire that nobody wants a 2nd time.
All said, go to Aurora Tire on Wellington and talk to Jason and give him a heads up the silver CLS550 guy sent you ;-) They aren't a Bridgestone dealer b/c they are no reps in Ontario so you will pay a bit more and have trouble with warranty. Still a great tire, I would be very confident with LM-60s on.
@Jycke, I just read an article on the Pilot Super Sports, considering those for summer shoes.. thoughts?

No I agree, but for example, Canadian Tire sells the Dunlop WS 3D for almost 1200 (for 4), and Allen has the same for 960 - so, will not pay more for the same tire (at least not that difference).
If it is you pay more for a much better product, I certainly will, I did buy a MB

Thanks man, I was reading about the Conti ExtremeWinterContact - and just saw the YouTube vid by Tirerack (they rated the WS70, X-Ice XI2, Conti ExtremeWinterContact and the Dunlop) - the Conti actually did pretty well, and may look at that instead!
I called Aurora Tire, they are supposed ti get some prices together - so hopefully they are close - as far as price.

Pay a little more for a lot better, and you can have a nice drive down the waterfront in your Mercedes
Take your wife to a nice dinner or something.

Thanks @Jycke
Meant to ask for more details.. What about experience handling during colder spring/fall months. I plan to swap out in late March when its only 30/40F and keep them on until mid-Nov in Ontario. I prefer a Summer performance over an all-season, but I don't plan on going to the track. If you're in Finland, may I presume you aren't living in tropical weather all year round? ;-)
Thanks!

I see you also keep some early 90's cars like me keeping my S13 240SX. That's the car that wears the Michelin X-Ice xi2 when the snow and ice comes around.

otakki, yes the nx 2000 wears bridgestones w60 . I often pass chained cars with these on snowpacked roads. The nx has been on a diet and flies at about 2100 lbs , but I won't race the wife in "her" c63 except tight hill climb to our house.
