A list of 2012-up issues and problems and headaches

I am only in the first phases of perhaps (even contemplating) placing an order for a 2013 but would only do it for bragging reasons quite honestly. No other reason, as I am in favor of my 2010 and the lack of all issues I have been having. Loving the car since day one, and still preferring the looks.

Please list your frustrations and just like the list we did for the '08-'11 we can get some insight into the frustrations...

I don't think it's worth it.. Just wait 2 years (I know easy to say but not easy to do) and get the newer model

2 years....that is just long enough owning a car to want a new one....Get one now and if the new model floats your boat when it comes out...time to sell/trade and get that one. OTOH the op states that he loves his car and prefers the looks....so why bother?? Bragging rights to what?? That you would have a car that is 2-3 years newer that what you now own???

I would have to disagree with you Guilty, I think 2 years is a bit too long of a wait.

Think the only issue is the heat issue which can be remedied --at your own cost, would be nice for AMG to fix it since the car is advertised as a track car-- once the vented hoods are out with a larger oil cooler with bumper vents drilled out. That being said, on Mosport I only got bumped to S+ once. Driving in S+ keeps the car cooler, issue is it kicks into downshifts at times when I prefer to leave it in gear.

I know some prefer the older look, some the newer. I prefer the look of the newer hood and front grille, but prefer the double gills from the older look. It’s all subjective. Objectively:

- Suspension seems tighter (I have a coupe)
- Transmission does shift better and shift logic seems better
- Interior is far superior (could be taken to be subjective, so will say from a materials perspective only)
- Better electronics

I personally like the looks of the pre-facelifted version...
If you love your car so much why would you change it ? Wait 2 more years and get new one...

Just wanted to get an idea of peoples frustrations with the 2012. Wanted to know if it was a good idea to move to it even though I have a fully loaded 2010, in mint condition, with no issues ever, low miles tint and clear bra, etc, etc. For me it would just be simply doing a change to a current model, that's what I mean by bragging rights. But that's it. I was presented an opportunity and will stick with my car.

Just wanted to get peoples opinions.

My only problem with the 2012+ C63's (Coupe/BS) is that with the windows down, there's a huge whistling sound from the wind. Ridiculously loud at 60mph+. Not sure if it applies to the Sedans or not, might be a coupe only issue.

Hello, as you know, i went from a 2011 to a 2012 coupe. Love everything about the 2012 better except for the smaller trunk opening (golf clubs are a pain to get into it)

things that need improvement. Navigation system and overall options on the comand system could be greatly improved.

still have heat issues but as stated above, some oil cooling upgrades fix all that.

best change - the newer models exhaust doesnt gurgle and pop anymore. i hatted that. sounded like an out of tune chevy nova.

i have no regrets (0) for upgrading to the new model. looks are subjective but i think the new model looks less ricey if you know what i mean.
