Should use H pipe or Resonator

Hi, I recently switched my xpipe/straight setup to straight/straight. The car sounds way too Raw and Raspy. I want to add a H pipe back to it to balance both banks and lessen the Rasp.

I understand our Resonator works as a H pipe, but my question is: would adding an actual H pipe be louder than using the resonator.

I think resonator will still do its main job to reduce sound, so I think an actual H pipe would be the right choice to keep the current sound level. But I just want to confirm this

Haha, I've asked them long time ago. They quoted me removing the res/2ndCat for a custom exhaust for 2grand lol. Seemed too high to me for a simple mod like that :s but I'm sure they charge high because of their quality. I plan to ask Rise to make me a H pipe, hopefully they're good.

Should of stuck with the xpipe/straight pipe secondary/res delete. If youre going for sound, put the secondaries back on and delete the resonator with straights, Sounds like a stock amg but way amplified, i loved how it sounded back then. Never tried straight pipes with resonators, but from members on this forum, i believe it sounds just as good, maybe members can chime in.

An X pipe is always going to give you better flow because of the scavanging effect. H pipes don't have this, they are to balance out exhuast pulses. Resnator delete with and X seems to be the way to go for both sound and a bit more performance.

This has been well known for a long time, but some folks like to experiment....
