Launch Control
Launch Control
Hey guys hows it going?
So i recently bought my 2012 c63 sedan mars red. A friend of mine has a 2008 porsche carrera s. He seems to be very proud of his car and put a 500 euro bet on the line. Both of our cars are stock. The bet is just a drag race. So heres my question? is there a way to launch my car without peeling out all over the place and watch him take off?
Thank you for all the feedback

High 11's? Are you sure? That's sounds more like the new 991 times. I think the AMG will beat him.....otherwise according to the claim of the high elevens, even the new C63 black series would lose.
The outgoing 997 S has the same power as the new 991 base carrera. So its had 350hp, 1/4 mile is in the mid 12's. IMO its going to come down to a drivers race, and the wide tires on the porsche make it easy to launch from a stop.
I would do a rolling race from 20mph on, and you should walk him.

Like all 911s, a base Carrera is powered by a 3.6-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder (a.k.a. "flat-6," a.k.a. "boxer-6") that in this case produces 325 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque (upgraded to 345 hp and 288 lb-ft for 2009). At low rpm, this engine emits a distinct mechanical rattle that'll leave folks looking for a V8-like rumbling gurgle a little underwhelmed. At full whack, though, the boxer sings a glorious wail from its perch beyond the back wheels, pushing the 911 to an impressive 0-60-mph run of 4.8 seconds. By comparison, the Carrera S with 30 more hp does the same sprint in 4.6 seconds. We could probably live without those two-tenths of a second and blow the $10,000 price difference on a Vegas weekend and some Star Wars memorabilia.
