Carbon Fiber Door Pins???
I bought a set of AMG carbon fiber door pins and followed the DIY but have a questions. The front and rear are the same length so the rear pins stick up an inch or so even when locked. Since the pics on eBay show them almost flush I am guessing I may need to cut the rears to shorten them?
Anyone else cut them down to get them to sit lower?
These are the ones I bought and they do look really nice:

Thanks for any help!

I think you have them installed backwards
There should be two different lenth pins... the really long ones go to the front doors and are threaded on. The shorter ones go on the rear doors and are press fit.

All 4 were the same size for the aftermarket ones. The originals definitely different, the back are much shorter as you said. It looks like I will have to shorten them. I will leave them for a few days and see if they slide down further but didn't want to go all grape ape on them and break anything first try.
On the plus side they look perfect with the carbon fiber door trim.

If they all are the same length they are not for our cars... I notice in the add it says for cars with 4 screw on pins... ie my W203 had 3 screw on pins that all are the same length.
I recently got these

Okay good input.
I don't think they are specifically for our cars but they look great so I will go the glue route. I will probably take a small amount off of one with the dremel tool to make sure it can be done and then cut them to fit. Hopefully have some pics this weekend.
Thanks!

If you sit in the back and the car is on fire or under water, the only way to unlock the door is to grab the pin and pull it up.
The front pin rises when you pull the door handle. The rears don't.
Safety says leave them higher.

Do you notice if they make a slight noise when going over bumps etc I have these fitted to my car and noticed they move around and make a slight noise when they bounce off the housing???
Very annoying.

You can use semi permanent loctite on the front pins that thread in. On the rear pins use a dab of silicone on the top of the plastic pin before you press down the aluminum one... I did it like this had no problems at all worked perfect I'm curious to know if the oem ones for like 200 bucks are that much better.
