Strap In...2014 E63
I was told this as well except for the hp and accel data which are due out soon, and it would have a dual clutch, which to me would be a BFD. Hopefully the car is not too much of a pig.

I wonder how much weight the 4matic will add--I looked at the difference in curb weight between the E350 with and without 4matic and it was about 125lb more. I would guess the AMG 4matic would be beefier and weigh at least that much, probably more.
And the E63 m157 already puts out 550hp with the PP, so what's so earth shattering here?? I know the 0-60 number is a big improvement, but I have a feeling the overall driving dynamics won't feel much different--just my .02.
I was hoping for 600+hp and lighter weight. The biggest reason I bought the C63 over the E63 was that the weight and feel of the E didn't tickle my senses the same way the lighter and more "nimble" C did. The new DCT is an improvement that is well overdue for the entire AMG lineup.
I guess I can go back to dreaming of a 600hp E63 coupe with all wheel drive
I'm sure the 2014 E63 will look great and be a bit faster than its predecessor, but this thread may have gotten my hopes up too high.

0-60 times are going to be the lulz

Sources have informed WCF that the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is going to come as standard with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and will develop 550 HP (405 kW) without the optional Performance Package. It will be able to perform the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint in 3.4 seconds. The current E63 AMG with its rear-wheel drive configuration produces 525 HP (386 kW) and accelerates from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds.
As far as styling is concerned, AMG is going for a very aggressive appearance in an effort to shake the stigma of a glorified E-Class. The front and rear bumpers, headlights and the side skirts will receive some alterations, with the front bumper resemling the Ferrari F430's bumper with big rounded air intakes. The headlights will be a one-piece with LEDs and bi-xenon, while the side skirts are completely different and more pronounced, featuring a trim piece that runs along the car’s length.
The 2014 E63 AMG is scheduled to go into production in Q3 2013 and is expected to look considerably more aggressive than the regular E-Class.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Multiple sources have sprung up with info similar to what the OP had mentioned. Thus, I think the info has high credibility.
Of course, 3.4sec is really something. The new SLS BS is also reported to have the same 3.4sec. That's why I wonder how MB is going to put this car, unless the entire AMG lineup is meant to have a restructuring after each model gets refreshed. Hmm, I wonder if the estate will be updated at the same time.
550-560hp is great. But I'm hoping for something north of 600's if it means the FF is going to have a hard time keeping up since the FF's 6.3L V12 has 650hp/505lb-ft. On the other hand, the hp is likely already similar since FF's 650hp is at 8000rpm. Moreover, the performance package will probably address that.

We all know what these things put out with a re-map of the ECU..
That coupled with AWD should spank the FF, and if not, come very close...
In my opinion the performance package is very expensive when you compare what you get to what's available from the likes of Renntech and Brabus..

BTW, what are your thoughts on the front end drawing inspiration from this, but being much more bad-a$$, refined and aggressive than this??

4 door GTR with all the stop n go cruise control/cooled seat comfort...
Thanks for all the info, keep it coming!
This may very well be my next car, I've always wanted an AWD in an AMG sedan.

I'm loving it! If it draws inspiration from the new A45 AMG it will definitely look more mean and aggressive, something the E63 needs a bit more of. I still find it hard to distinguish between an E550 and E63 on the road.

Agreed...just wait till you see it...and the back-end looks amazing as well...carbon fiber goodies should look real nice on the new one...
