Quote: I wonder how much weight the 4matic will add--I looked at the difference in curb weight between the E350 with and without 4matic and it was about 125lb more. I would guess the AMG 4matic would be beefier and weigh at least that much, probably more.

And the E63 m157 already puts out 550hp with the PP, so what's so earth shattering here?? I know the 0-60 number is a big improvement, but I have a feeling the overall driving dynamics won't feel much different--just my .02.

I was hoping for 600+hp and lighter weight. The biggest reason I bought the C63 over the E63 was that the weight and feel of the E didn't tickle my senses the same way the lighter and more "nimble" C did. The new DCT is an improvement that is well overdue for the entire AMG lineup.

I guess I can go back to dreaming of a 600hp E63 coupe with all wheel drive
I'm sure the 2014 E63 will look great and be a bit faster than its predecessor, but this thread may have gotten my hopes up too high.
Well if the standard E63 has 550hp then I wonder what the 'PP' version will have? hmmmmmmmmmmmm

The E is a little big for me. I hope the new C63 is boosted.

Can you tell us anything about the plans of the E-Cell? Coming to U.S. or not and in what models? Thanks!

They are debating as to whether or not they should bring the SLS E-Cell here, but that is still up in the air.

Other than that, the only full electric vehicle confirmed for the US is the B-Class..

E400 Hybrid will be coming as well.

I like the size of the E.
Although I could appreciate a C Coupe with dual clutch and a lightweight chassis, closer to 3500lb.

I doubt there'd be much interest if the price tag is over $500k as some blogs are suggesting. No A or A45? Also any idea of the B and A?

Exactly...I would imagine that it's going to be a Europe, Asia and Middle-East car.

I'm not 100% on the A-Class, there are too many new products coming that were discussed (something like 39 between now and 2020) and that's one that I can't remember. Looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of money on car related items lol...

I didn't really expound on my initial comment on the B-Class, but it will only be available in e-cell form.

As to the CLA, it will debut Q3 of next year in tandem with the S-Class and will initially be front wheel-drive only, to then launch as a 4MATIC in Q2 of 2014.

2012 CLS550 4Matic is an animal out of the hole, so i can only imagine what will happen with launch control and an extra 100-150 HP

Sources have informed WCF that the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is going to come as standard with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and will develop 550 HP (405 kW) without the optional Performance Package. It will be able to perform the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint in 3.4 seconds. The current E63 AMG with its rear-wheel drive configuration produces 525 HP (386 kW) and accelerates from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds.
As far as styling is concerned, AMG is going for a very aggressive appearance in an effort to shake the stigma of a glorified E-Class. The front and rear bumpers, headlights and the side skirts will receive some alterations, with the front bumper resembling the Ferrari F430's bumper with big rounded air intakes. The headlights will be a one-piece unit with LEDs and bi-xenon, while the side skirts are completely different and more pronounced, featuring a trim piece that runs along the car’s length.
The 2014 E63 AMG is scheduled to go into production in Q3 2013.

Quote: I hate MB sometimes. Why don't they make a damn E63 coupe????? I don't need a 4dr... selfish as hell

I'll just go get an M6 then
This!

What the f*ck are they doing not building an E63 Coupe.

I believe not having this very car is sending some potential buyers to other brands.

The E coupe is based on the C platform so unfortunately much of the engineering for the sedan doesn't carry over.

One thing that's kinda unbelievable that its going to be faster than the Ferrari FF which has 660 ponies .. 3.6 second to 60mph.

If the rumors are true.

You're forgetting the fact that it's supposed to be as fast as an italia ... :|
it will have one hell of a waiting list if that's truly the case, because everyone in the AMG market is going to focus on the new most radical change ..
don't get me wrong, i'd love for all of this to be true, but i dont think it fits in mercedes' product line or market segmentation .. it would disturb other AMG sales.
Also, if Mercedes themselves supposedly advertise that it does the 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, then it must be a tad faster than that too as we have found out with the PP coupes

From a marketing perspective I think it's spot on. The E is caught somewhere between the C and CLS today...each model has an identity of it's own (S - flagship ultimate luxo-rocket; c - toss around fun car; CLS - stylish speed; etc) except the E. This will give it that "M5" identity - true top of the line performance sedan that isn't just a fast boat.

I'm too lazy to search.... what's cls63 0-60? That's what you'll get. If you believe e63 will do it in 3.4 you're more naive than my 7 y.o. neighbor kid. He still believes in Santa, btw.

All I can say, is there is no way the price on this car is not going up significantly. Likely AMG is trying to increase the pricing and differentiation of it's product.

Of course the way things are going, such cars could simply be blocked by the EPA.
