The Current CLS and E63 do 0 to 60 in 3.8(at least that's what I've read in road tests). AWD and a little more power will bring that down. There was also talk of a DCT tranny which would help as well. I don't think it's far fetched.

I think the real issue here to be concerned about is weight. Throwing this new E63 through corners you will probably feel some difference. Does anyone know how much the weight the 4matic systems currently add?

The FF isn't exactly light. 4145lbs. The current E63 sits at 4048. There's a lot of ways to hide weight, but I'm not sure if the E63 is going to go in that direction or not.

I can't go into much detail but all I have to say is that Mercedes has unleashed the gates of hell on the AMG product and has the M division of BMW, amongst others, clear in its sights...
I got to see, sit in and touch the 2014 E63 yesterday, and good lord, there has NEVER been such radical and amazing shift in design philosophy.
Prepare to get your pants knocked off, it's just unbelievable - aesthetically, and mechanically speaking!
Just wait till you hear the performance stats...it's basically just stupid. LOL
For those of you doubting the direction of the next gen C-Class, PLEASE do yourself a favor and wait to form your opinion until the official press release is done on the 2014 E63...
Mark my words, MB is in it for the win, and you will understand what I'm saying once you see it....
(it is soooo hard to keep my mouth shut - I just want to scream my knowledge from the rooftops!!!! (I feel like Buddy in Elf) )

Well it depends on your sense of humor I suppose. While its a hot ride, I haven't seen anything yet that should put 'Buddy from Elf' into hyperbolic overdrive. They added 30hp and 4matic. Cool? You bet your ***. Game changer that will set the automotive world abuzz? Doubt it. No secret that the thing slowing down the 63's is traction (or lack thereof) and AWD is being used more and more by everyone.
Pretty hard to change the game with that when the nearly 5000 lb Audi S8 runs 0-60 in 3.5 and the 1/4 in 11.8. That impressed me. I mean, H E double hockey sticks Margaret, they make a long wheelbase version in case you want to have a driver and ride in the back with your grey Poupon!!!
I don't doubt that this new E will look more aggressive but I don't think this represents a whole new philosophy and a game changer. Now that I've seen those numbers (which ARE impressive but don't bowl me over) I'm gonna need to find out that car has way more camo on it than I thought and has a 930 turbo slope nose grafted on the front and can rise up on an air suspension so you can 4 wheel it thru Moab.
Then we will all be laughing.

Totally agree and this will be important to me. I like the center console and armrest / gearknob on my C63. I hope they have something similar on the E. How the interior looks and feels will be pretty important to me. I won't move over just for the AWD and dual clutch if the interior isn't grabbing me.

Paddles alone are not enough.
The Command also needs a serious update.
