I have to agree with what an earlier member said... it has to be one of the most awkward looking cars, especially in its class. THey really took a step backwards with the new A8/S8... i thought the last one looked great.
Anyways, kudos to Audi for achieving those numbers on that monster.

Very interesting video. I wonder how accurate those dyno numbers are. It's hard to believe the A8 out powers a Bentley!
you don't calculate crank hp by multiplying wheel hp by 1.15 or whatever loss you have.
you divide wheel hp by .85 or .8
after that asinine nonsense, the rest of the video wasn't worth my time.

I thought that's what they meant. Maybe they misspoke but did the right calculations.

no they didn't.
the b7 put down 414whp. They say thats 476bhp The way they did that is 414*1.15=476
414/.85=487

Aah ok. I only watched it once so I didn't catch that. Nice work.

We saw the S6, S7, and S8 at the Atlanta Auto Show and these cars are serious. The interior is drop dead gorgeous, and they claimed a 0-60 on the summary spec sheet of 4.2 seconds. With a tune, these things are going to be extreme monsters, and a good replacement platform for their flagship RS6 from 2003.

Motor Trend has historically quoted very generous perfomance figures for vehicles, much quicker than ones quoted by the other car magazines/testers. I would wait on other tests before becoming too excited as the Car & Driver figures are probably closer to reality.Originally Posted by Blown_V8s

If it's the same article I read then times were just estimates...not instrument tested.Originally Posted by Blown_V8s

They are already getting an extra 100hp with a tune in Germany.
If I had the coin I think this would be my car.
Close to the eclass in cost with clearly S class amenities.
Nice job Audi!

And the same mag listed the pre-facelift C63 at 3.9 0-60 and 12.3 the qtr. So, who's right?Originally Posted by Blown_V8s
