I broke mine in by the book for ~400 miles, followed by increasingly spirited runs after that. No crazy stuff (i.e. kickdown to high revs and holding those revs) until right about 1k.

Congratulations
I absolutely did not keep driving in C during the 1,000 miles of misery. I did avoid prolonged runs above 4,500 RPM or 85MPH. I found the ride perfectly comfortable and not at all hard.

Only for break in. It says "no kickdown"... Which seems like it would be hard in the sport modes, no?
Maybe this begs the question... What did others do on break in. So far I am following it religiously....which means C mode only, no manual shifting, etc... Nothing over 4500, 85 mph, etc. Car has about 50 miles on it now...

All the break in advice makes sense. I plan to stay under 4500 and 85, but I guess the "kickdown" rule seems to not be seen as wisdom. Its on the sticker in the window, so I will probably err on the side of smooth shifting. I have to believe that AMG knows what they are doing. To answer another couple questions... I do not have the track package, so I don't have the Dunlops. I may switch to them or something like them. I absolutely loved Michelin Pilot Sports on all my Porsches, not sure if they are an option here. The C63 BS was offered for 2012 and 2013. My understanding is that 2013 was extremely limited, like 26 units in the U.S., but I am not sure.

Congrats! The exhaust and torque probably sells 90% of C63s. Did you end up leasing? I followed the break in per the book, so important that MB was compelled to put a sticker in the line of sight of the driver! Time to check out the new tollway to San Antonio.

2013 C63 Black Series
Re: the leasing.... the dealership did offer me a tax credit...but after a lot of number crunching, I still decided a retail finance was the best option.... I have never leased before, either write a check or straight finance.... I just couldnt get comfortable with it.... I got 1.89% for 66 months, which to me was a great deal. I will never finance the car that long anyway, I will either sell it or pay it off over the next 24-36 months. Just simpler, made me feel better...more flexibility, etc.

It amazes me that in Australia, a country less than one tenth the population of the US, we got 42 black series allocated vs 26 in the US. I guess we just love AMG that much more down under!

Someone here knows the exact numbers but Im guessing the US was supposed to get 80????

The final numbers I have are 75 in the US and 30 in Canada (that's all 2012 + 2013's). Originally, it was 70 in the US and 10 in Canada, but US got another 5 cars (I'm sure one's jrcarts haha) and Canada got an additional 20.
The reason why different market gets more cars is because Mercedes makes their allocation decisions based on per capita sales, as well as pre sales numbers. Canada got a huge bump from 10 to 30 because the first 10 sold out in a day.

But seriously, congrats.

Family medical stuff and Hurricane Sandy's getting in the way of mine. But I shall have mine soon enough. Cannot wait.
Thanks for posting pics! I'll read through this thread shortly.
