KW DDC coilover kit review
Alright, today my wait was finally over! I left from Stuttgart this morning filled with hope and expectations and they were all met. I picked up the car and the KW rep (Christoph & Johannes, thank you if you are reading) showed me how the whole thing works. What they did was they installed an electric unit in the first aid kit compartment of the trunk, the same place they put the wifi-sender allowing the iphone to connect to the system. They downloaded the KW DDC software for my iphone and showed me the quick use button installed in the 12v output (cigarette lighter). I'll post pics of how they integrated the button tomorrow.
Anyway, to the good part. The car now handles like it should have from the factory. The DDC kit gives me the ability to switch between three settings, comfort, sport and sport+. In addition, through the app i can also do some more refined adjustments. This i have not however looked into as i had quite a long drive to make.
As for the handling, Sport+ is amazing, comfort is slightly softer than our stock suspension and the regular sport i have not really used much, but based on what i did, it feels a bit rougher than our stock. In tight corners the car has a lot less understeer and i feel like i am in more control of the car. It took slight curves at 250 kph like a dream. The car just simply sticks to the road in a way i did not think it was able to do. It just felt so stable i was amazed.
The parts actually feel like they've always been a part of the car. My main concern was that there would be rubbing or such issues but there really has not been any although i'm running 265 R19 HRE P40's.
All in all, i could not be happier with the results and i can't wait to get off this ferry on sunday so that i can continue playing around with the car. It feels like a brand new car
Now, as i have been awake for soon 22 hours, i believe it's time to get some shut eye. A few pics coming up tomorrow (if this connection is willing), and if you have any questions i'll gladly answer them tomorrow. Sorry for such a short review but i have mainly driven on autobahn today so this is all i really can say about it so far. What little i have driven on small roads it feels more comfortable than the stock suspension on comfort mode. Sport+ again...oh well, try it for yourselves
I would recommend this kit to anyone looking for a set of coilovers; now also available for estates ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Sorry for crappy cell phone pics. These were taken during the journey back north. Can't get this page to show the pics, therefore the link.

The system sounds terrific. Cudos to you and KW for bringing this coil over suspension to the Estates and Sedans as well. Terrific ride control adjustability on the fly! ![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)

Now that it has been lowered and my wife saw it she said it looked like someone stuffed it full with junk that made it heavy....she just knows how to say the right things :P

Sounds like a real winner and congrats overall...being part of the process must have been very satisfying. You wouldn't think coilovers would have that pronounced an effect on handling but they do. Enjoy the ride...

JUNK IN THE TRUNK!!!! hahaha
Glad to hear you love it, I could have told you not to worry about rubbing issues! Coilovers generally allow for more room then the stock struts.

Looking at the pics I think someone at KW lied to You - that i definitely more than a 1cm drop
It looks great - similar to what I had on H&R springs.
But I think the front is a little but higher than the rear (or it's just me seeing things).

But as to the front, no. The rear is still higher.

Yikes... Jycke your car loos awesome with the drop!!
Can you adjust the front to be lower a bit more? It does look higher than the rear.
BTW, what size tires & brand are you using on your HRE (& offset pls)? Any rubbing with the drop now? I'm thinking of going down from 275/30 to 265/30 cuz my wife hates the slight rub on the passenger rear.

Height still has to be adjusted manually with the coilover sleeves unfortunately this only controls dampening

Old post but just want to know if more people have feedback of KW DDC use?
I have been told by KW that in confort is like "street confort coils" setup and in sport + is like the "KW V3"
Any thoughts?
PS: about the app where we can change settings, I see % from front and back and right to left, we can really change the overal handling ?

Comfort mode, is comfortable. Better than stock. Sport, was slightly harsher, and Sport+, was stiffer than P30.
Great coils.
