My favorite was a guy on his way to DragonCon, I assume. That weekend anyway. I walk up, and he says "These are not the 'droids you are looking for." I thought for a second and said "Move along." Then went and got back in my car and backed up to my spot. He sat there for a moment, I think floored it worked.
We do have a sense of humor.Oh and FYI, Georgia doesn't allow unmarked cars to be used for traffic stops. Slick tops yes, but unmarked no....unless it is for a Felony. Although you will often see an unmarked out with a marked if it is like....say an old traffic guy that calls a marked car to make the stop for him.
. But that is usually few and far between.
It is an actual cop car, the company that built the cruiser (also builds armoured vehicles and such for third world countries/dictators
) was around the corner from my office at my previous contract. Rumour is it will end up in VA (have not heard any updates), but it could end up anywhere..

No. It is not any more costly to the tax dollars than the idiotic thugs with badges spend on "Duce and a Half's" and other MILITARY vehicles that the local police have not justification what so ever to own. The police in FL (in just my county) are singularly responsible for the deaths of six innocent people in the past year for outlandish chases of misdemeanor suspects and stolen police cars (that had kill switches). The sooner we as a nation end Qualified Immunity the sooner we will have control of what most of society considers to be the most dangerous gang of street thugs in our nation.
On a positive note - one of my buddies quite literally repossessed Sheriff Grady Judds helicopter when the Polk County Sheriff missed a few payments. We were flying around in it screwing with all the police gear in the helicopter. Fun times.
