Spectacular arrest in Miami... with an unmarked Mercedes E350!!!!!

I was on my way out of the police station today making a report and I saw 6 or 7 unmarked cars with municipal plates but didn't really care much... then suddenly a white mercedes E350 put its lights on and hunt a guy down and all the other cars follow right away... I think they were following him for a while... The cop in the mercedes pulled out his gun and pointed it at the suspect etc! Then he pulls out his badge from under his tee-shirt! I felt like I was watching a movie!! Not sure if they read him his miranda rights ! Sometimes I wish I was a cop lol!

Sorry for the bad pics I wanted to take more but they asked me to move over

Mike, can a plain clothes detective in an unmarked car (like a mercedes or acura) pull me over? Do they usually care about traffic violations?

Lots of variables come into play such as the circumstances ect. Also departmental policy. The rule of thumb is that if you feel unsafe to pull over call 911 and tell them that an unmarked police car is trying to pull you over. They will be able to verify and let you know what to do

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
A few years back, I got pulled over by a unmarked car with a detective in it.
I pulled up next to his unmarked car, and hammered the throttle. His flashers under his visors come on and he pulls me over. He asks me why and I am driving so fast. I tell him their is no law about getting to the speed limit as fast a I want as long as I'm not spinning my tires. He tells me just slowed down.
He really was not into traffic law enforcement mode at all.

In CA, any LEO can pull you over anywhere in the state. It just may not be prudent to have to travel back to a town far away for the court. I swore I read an article that said traffic stops must be performed by a marked patrol vehicle due to the rise in kidnapping and rapes a few years ago by people posing as unmarked cops.

100% right

Should you feel it's not safe start driving toward the nearest PD and dial 911. If he's real they will tell you right away..usually unmarked cars are for agressive driving/traffic units or detectives-investigations. And your right but like I said usually an unmarked vehicle will call for a marked patrol car. One department down here has a fleet of very nice challengers and chargers (SRT) with ghost decals ( very hard to see until your right up on it )

My gf just beat her first speeding ticket because she was pulled by an unmarked car. Her friend, who works for a local county court, also advised her, but the cops would not allow them to drive to a better lit area on I-5 at night on the way back from LA and they wouldn't let her call 911 to request a uniformed/marked unit.

I like the new 2012 Chargers. They are very visible from far and I always assume they are cops. So I slow the hell the down pass them and check out the car to see if it's a cop... but in Miami it's pretty easy to spot unmarked cars.. they all have limo tint lol

must feel very special and priviliged to ride a Benz in the line of duty.
this is something that doesn't happen everyday.
it's only politicians and banana republic dictators being priviliged getting those black tinted cuze cruisers.

Houston Police Department (HPD) has a dozen white 2011/12 Camaro SS coupes.

All are dressed as V6 camaros. Also, none of them have steelies. I once saw up close - hidden lights integrated into the headliner edges - headlights - etc. seen one of those in action (high speed pursuit).

Funny thing is some businessman donated those 12 Camaros to the the HPD.

Were these the ones donated by Mario Williams?

I see them pull over cars on 146, I45 and I10. At this point if I see a white camaro "broken down" on the shoulder I know its one of HPD"s finest.

If you drive by my agencies employee lot- you'd think everyone was crooked. Mercedes, BMW's, Corvettes, Cobras, H2s, Jaguars, etc.

Wow that's odd but I guess they do things different over there.
I always make it a point to treat people like I want my family treated. Ill be nice till I can't be nice anymore but 99.9% people understand as long as you treat like you want to be treated.

Do you really surprise people with your Charger? Your car is visible from a mile away! I don't think that you catch that many serious speeders lol

Question: Is it possible to use the C63 (your personal car) as a work car? Is it allowed?

California law states a forward facing solid red light is whats needed to initiate a traffic stop. Using a marked car is used for officer safety when possible and to avoid "I didn't know it was a cop" defenses in court but its not a requirement. You do not need to summon a uniformed officer as long as you have law enforcement credentials to present upon request.

Personally, I've only been treated with that level of respect twice. Every other time, it's like they're on a power trip. But hey, the city of Stockton is broke. Maybe they care more about revenue than complaints.

Florida citizens must be happy to learn their tax money goes towards the maintenance and upkeep of a fleet of European luxury Benzes, just for the purpose of pulling people over.
