I know 08's and 09's had an option for a P30 package, I believe, which had the alcantara wheel and LSD, but no HP increase. I thought the HP increase and red calipers etc was 2010 and on, on the P31. Correct me if I'm wrong

09's did not have the power increase or the red calipers, with the performance pack
They did have 2 piece rotors, an enhanced and lowered suspension, alcantera wheel, speed limiter removed, and depending in the year had an LSD (there was a modification to the performance pack in mid 09 and some cars did not have LSD)
2010 was the first year the performance pack had the enhanced internals, ECU improvements, giving the 30HP increase, and the red calipers

08 had no pp (I think)
09 had Pp - P30 - no red calipers (also came incomplete in some instances - there was no mid year change in terms of LSD , the only pp cars that came without LSD were mistakes)
10+ had pp - P31 - included red calipers

I dont think it was a mistake....
They changed both the performance pac and the premium package mid year because they wanted some components to be stand alone options and changed the pricing of both of those packages.
Anyone buying a C63 in early 2010 had two types of package groups to chose from. Early build 2009s and later build 2009s

Not saying I'm not wrong, just saying in over 3 years of owning 2 C63's I've never heard what you're claiming, and experienced the opposite.

Not all 2009 PPs have LSD as many members will attest.
I also purchased my 2009 in mid 2010. I had originally built out a car in March which had LSD as an option and the P30 was about $3k cheaper. I ended up purchasing an early 2009 that had the P30 with the LSD standard.
There were also other mid year change ups like a reverse camera for the later 2009 premium package cars.
Benz started doing this across several models after this, meaning having LSD as an option separate from the performance package.

MB was releasing incomplete PP packages in 2009, most of them +/- Alcantara wheel or LSD which they sometimes retrofitted or offered credit.
2009 PP included
2-piece rotors
Speed limiter removed
Stiffer Springs, which made the car sit a couple MM lower also
+/-
Alcantara wheel
LSD

This question is asked everyday in every other thread. Do the research for yourself. Everything else on here is personal opinion...
Are performance tires a must?
Are upgraded brakes a must?
Is an upgraded suspension a must?
Is more horsepower a must?
Is an upgraded exhaust a must?
You decide what kind of driver you are and then get the car with the features that suit you and your driving style
You don't see anyone taking their LSDs out and swapping them for a standard diff.....unless they are parting out the car

How can I tell if I have the Performance package on my 2009, my only concern is replacing the breaks. I do not have red calipers but it seems from some of the posts above that was not always included.
Thanks

Red calipers were never included in 2009.
Most thorough way is to check the VIN number via an MB dealer or someone here because, as stated above, some of the 2009 P30's came incomplete early on.
Visually, take a look at the rotors (2pc) and the steering wheel (alcantara).
