Vorsteiner diffuser install giving me headaches
I picked up a very nice carbon vorsteiner diffuser for my C63... its being one pain to install... spent all yesterday trying to do it. I would really prefer to not have to take the bumper off to install it. The oem one pops in and out no problems I have taken it off several times... my mechanical and body skills are of what you would find in a body shop.
I tried everything I could think of... lubing up the tabs. Bought suction cups to hold the bumper out while I try and press in... I am pushing with more then 40lbs of force and the two middle tabs will not engage the bumper properly.
Problems are the bumper material is too flimsy to push hard on it. the vorsteiner diffuser is too tight to the underside of the car to get your hand in and up behind the bumper to hold it while pressing this is how I do the oem diffuser.
Here are some pics so you can see what I am talking about... looks like its installed but its not.
Maybe someone has some wisdom on how I can get those tabs to pop in place.

I jammed some towels between the bumper cover and bumper bar behind the cover leaving a tail so I could pull them out after the diffuser was installed and such that they did not block the tabs. A bit of trial and error but got the job done. I also ground down the studs used to hold the screen in so they would not hit the bumper bar but it was still a close fit on the lower set of studs.
GL, I am sure I remember a little blue air during the install.

Hey mort we must be twins... I did the same thing yesterday jammed some towels behind leaving little tails to pull them out... didn't work.
Other issue is up here in Canada its getting quite cold... but I figured the safest place for the diffuser was on the car I didn't want it get broken storing it till spring.

Mine didn't fit properly on the passenger side above the exaust tips, it wasn't an easy installation like everyone claims for sure.

Even with the bumper off it put a bit of a fight up but after about 5 min all the tabs are thru... there must have been a bit of an issue with this one in the middle its not 100% perfect fitment.

my wife bananas! :D
The rear looks so much better with the vorsteiner diffuser cf on a black car looks so awesome
My vorsteiner fit perfectly but then again mb installed it for me hehe
Having a 2nd pair of hands will definitely help guide the tabs in and hold it in place

A little off topic, but does anyone know if we can CF wrap our OEM rear diffuser? I know it won't be the real thing, but I just want a different look than the dull plastic diffuser.
My concern is that it would be hard to wrap around the fins, and the thickness it adds when I add the CF layer on; will it still fit back on the bumper?

Wrapping the oem is very time consuming if u DIY, and is very difficult around the fins area. A shop will charge u 200$ easily to wrap it.. At that price, u might as well buy aftermarket CF diffuser.. Like oem style from Suvneer.
