MyGenius Flashloader Device Error

Hi guys,

Trying to update the MyGenius device but I am getting an error - MyGenius Error - E034005.

Anyone seen this before or anyone know how to fix this?

The software on the PC updated successfully, just the device has the problem.

Can anyone confirm the device information after the update.

Mine is:

BOOT: 2.000.008
GOS: 3.099 b 0001

mine had a bunch of errors i just kept clicking the update button and eventually it updated.

who did u buy the tuner from?

I tried a couple of dozen times. Even tried it on an XP machine and a Windows 7 machine. Same error.
It's an OE tune.

For some unknown reason not all MBZ ECU will allow you to use the Dimsport (My Genius) flash loader. It's rare but it does happen. It's not the tuners fault and nothing is wrong with your car. The alternative is to have it bench turned. They don't open the ECU but take it out and flash the tune through the pins.

It's not even up to the part where I plug it in the OBD port. This error is coming up when I try and update the MyGenius device. First step.

Have you tried uninstalling/delete everything and reload everything again? Or maybe try a different computer/OS? I had this error when I first tried to update my myGenius and I just kept on clicking update and it eventually worked. Or maybe contact the tuner that you got the device from?

Sorry, lots of suggestions. Lol.

Tried lots of things.

Tried 2 different O/S - Windows XP, Windows 7
Tried Uninstalling/Reinstalling a couple of time
Tried clicking update dozens of times
Tried updating the device without ticking the software to be updated
Tried updating them both

The Windows software updated correctly, but the MyGenius doesnt.

Getting annoying.

Jeremy also remote desk-topped my comp. too since i was not having any luck with that part as well. Once it was done, the rest was a breeze. give them a call.

I'm guessing that's my problem (2009 CLS 550). I have gotten two MyGenius devices in the attempt to get my car tuned. The funny thing is, is that I've had partial success. With the first device, after much trial and error, I finally got the ID read, and sent it off to the tuner for the mod files. When I got them back and loaded on the device I could not write them, and it eventually went into "Recovery Mode". Had not been able to get through that, so they sent me a new device. I've tried 4 times to read the ID and continue to get the same errors I did with the first one.

I've given up and am sending them back.

It's a bummer, as I really wanted a little more power. However, I don't want to send in my ECU, as I'm concerned about having a non-stock tune on it when I take it for service at the dealer.

Unless anyone has any better ideas I'll probably put my money into new mufflers.

I had issues with the MyGenius device as well. My tuner ended up getting on my computer remotely to troubleshoot the issue.

If you haven't reached out to your tuner, that will be my first suggestion. The tune does free up a few horses you can feel in the seat of your pants, so don't give up on it yet. Good luck!

My problem was not at the computer, it was during connection via ODBII. I've talked and emailed the tuner numerous times, and as I mentioned they even sent me a new device.

MyGenius is a garbage interface/device. These tuners need to figure out whomever supplies the EDGE Tuners for the diesels and retrofit their software to that device. It is clean, small, and very easy to use. My .02.
