What's with all the excitement over the AWD? Let me tell you from experience AWD has many draw backs. The biggest being the ability to drag the car. What I mean by saying this is that the weakest point of the cars will go out. From experience it's always been 1 gear. The weight is also an issue. Audi has one of the best AWD systems out and that was always the issue when you put power to it. Good and bad with everything I guess

99.9% sure with twins on the 4.0 liter, it will feel like a naturally aspirated 7.0 liter. Only time a turbo will run out of air is when they are too small for a particular application. Smaller displacement motors are more likely to rev higher, depending on stroke, camshaft and head flow. I'm sure the new TT4.0L with be a screamer.

One more thing, good luck with blown turbos under warranty if the ecu was flashed... I know Audi would was very firm on making sure the car was not flashed and Audi is usually pretty soft. I can't even think how hard MB will be.

my wife bananas! :D
i wouldnt mind the AWD system in the c63 amg only because i use mine as a DD. I only track a few times a year so the DD ability for me is more important (don mind sacrificing a bit of the performance end). The AWD would make the car that much better to handle the snow we got last week.
however, I would like MB to offer both RWD and AWD platforms, would be nice.

I just need to convince the wife that strapping on the blower on the "Last Big V8" is a smart economical choice than trading in and buying the new W205 AMG.

I had both Subaru WRX and STi, both with AWD. On rainy days, those were a blast: Going flat out on highways with non-banked curves and turns when the others had to lift off the throttle. However, the AWD has its drawbacks, specially the weird feeling that they lose power at high speeds (like on 3rd and 4th gears). That is why I switched to RWD cars.
I'll have to test drive the new C40/45/63 and come up with viable conclusions. For now, we can discuss possibilities.
