I do fully expect it to come and I'm incredibly excited to be involved with such a great group of enthusiasts and a small community of black series drivers. I hope I can provide some knowledge in the future.

A few questions:

1. I'm reasonably mechanically inclined (installed big brake kits, swapped turbos, and coilovers on my Audi), can I change the ride height of the car? Or is this not a possibility.

2. How do the brakes hold up to track days?

3. Where is this PL that you guys speak of?

Thanks again!
One of the guys here lowered his BS a tiny bit by adjusting the factory perch, maybe 1/4 or 1/2 inch, someone else can elaborate. Otherwise need coilovers/springs - if you've done similar work on Audi's I'm sure the plus/minus in difficulty isn't much.

Congrats and welcome back!!

I couldn't imagine lowering the car anymore than the stock height. As it is, I approach every driveway with dread.

Nice! I was eyeing that car myself, but wanted a back seat. Very badass automobile you got there. Will be helpful to hear what you paid when you're ready.

Love to hear a comparison to normal C63 and/or to whatever car you came from.

That's the one. Here's the thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk63-bla...tin-guard.html

I'll PM you separately when I get home (I have the detailed invoice sitting there). They do a killer job (I'll be doing a full write-up of my C63BS experience + pics + review of the wrap, among other things that I've done to my car soon enough). Doing a SatinGuard wrap on a Matte car is a great idea, in my opinion, and the folks at Premier have done that several times before. Most people think you only wrap glossy paint, but that's not true.

That would be Vic, I believe.

(Also, front == coilovers already.)

Yup. I've, sadly, scraped my splitter twice, so far. It's my DD, so I'll have to get over it, but still sadness...

Wow! Damn. I need to be more careful, especially since the BS front splitter sits lower than stock C63's (granted, yours may not be stock?).

Get a sheet of Tegris and have it cut to fit the bottom side of your splitter, I had one made for my CLK, the stuff is bullet proof....literally LOL. It's stronger than CF, about 100 times more resistant to friction and cracking than CF and almost as light at CF....and cheap

I'm actually about to experiment with a clear rhino-type lining on my old bumper/lip. I'll let you guys know how that turns out.

I get my car back Friday and the shop owner will start tinkering around next week or so.

Oh, nice. I'll have to get that done. Do you know of a good Tegris supplier? Perhaps I could have Premier remove the wrap from my splitter (which is already a bit torn up now) and replace it, on the bottom, with a sheet of Tegris as you suggested.

I contacted the company that makes Tegris(Milliken Co) and they put me in touch with a distributor that sold it in sheet form, it was a few years ago so I do not have info off the top of my head. THe stuff looks similar to CF but is way more resistant to abraision, you can scrape over a speed bump and it does not even leave a mark on the Tegris, impressive stuff.

Awesome. Thanks for the info! I'll reach out to them and see what I can work out. Will report back if I make any progress on this (along with the installation of it on my front splitter).

The stuff I got was about .125" thick, fairly thin. Used a jigsaw with some special blade. Cut out a template then traced it onto the Tegris. I cut the template so it was a good inch or so away from the outer edges of the splitter so it would never be visible from any angle and scrwed it into some mounting holes I put in the stock splitter and bumper. The stuff is light weight and if I recall I only drilled 6 tiny mounting holes.

The stuff is so strong they are starting to use it in the off-road world for underbody skid plates, that should let you know how strong it is.

Let me know... since we're close by, we can take both our cars in to do this... I'm gonna plan on doing the full body wrap as well.

Yeah.. I'm really getting excited. Have to fly out of the country for a week, but it should be arriving when I get back. Had my cousin take a look at it in person and he said it was flawless - no dings, scratches, or scrapes. Opened up the hood, and asked me, "who's signature is that?" I thought he was talking about the AMG engine builder sig, he said, "no, there's another one." I told him that was Mario Andretti's.

Definitely Magno Allanite Grey for SLS BS

Funny, when I started my hunt for a C63BS, I was originally completely opposed to the matte color options. However, after seeing it in person, I am definitely a convert. I especially dig the SLS in matte grey (and am torn between Mystic White and Magno Allanite Grey for the SLS BS).

Just a little update. So the paperwork is all done... It's gonna be delivered by covered transport to my house January 15. As for the purchase price, it worked out to be around 121k which I think is not bad given that the car probably was going for much more just a few months ago.

Really excited and of course I can't leave the car stock... So here's the plan

1. Satin wrap the whole car for full protection of that rather precious matte black paint.
2. Paint rims gloss black with red amg lettering.
3. Subwoofer? I hear the bass sucks.

January 15 can't come soon enough
