The first thing I would say is that the 405mm front brakes we're considerably lighter than the standard smaller brakes. And the 380mm rear showed the same results.
I returned to SPA and also Silverstone GP and had consistent strong braking throughout the day. My tires couldn't cope but the brakes were awesome.
Just wanted to give some first hand knowledge of the upgrade as their seems to be very little around. By the way I have no doubt that the stock setup is more than sufficient for road use however they cannot cope with consistent braking loads from high speeds.

Very cool! Always glad to hear some first hand experience with the product.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

I had a Brembo GT set ( f+r ) on my E 46 M3 and it transformed it, A superb bit of kit

I also had AP and Stoptech systems on my E92M3s and they were good but not as good (IMHO) as the Brembo GT,

In fact I am thinking or putting a 405 Kit on the front of My C63 125 2011 coupe.

You need 20" wheels for the 405mm kit. I also have the 380mm kit on my E46 M3 which you can use some 19" wheels on. For the C class the 380mm should be plenty.

I have 20" wheels on my sl600 in the UK with no problems but you do need lightweight wheels in order to keep the ride quality. Are you looking for standard size wheels or brakes?

Stock brakes are 360/330 mm f/r with 6/4 piston calipers. They are pretty much the Brembo GT kit. If you run out of brakes on the stock system and have aggressive pads, you might need some driving lessons.

They are definetly not the Brembo GT kit. Not even close. They are great for daily driving however as soon as you put some repetitive hard braking on them they over heat and fade very quickly. You say "they are pretty much the Brembo GT kit" this means you have never used a Brembo after market kit.

GT kit is minutely different. GT-R is very different. The only differences between the GT kit and the stock system are the rotors and pads, both easily upgraded without the cost of calipers. I tracked my C63 at VIR and had multiple brake applications from 160ish on the back straight with zero fade. High pad wear, yes. But no fade. This indicates I was operating near the temp limit of the pad. Some upgraded pads and rotors should be more than sufficient for any weekend warrior with the exception of maybe Dad's C63 which had much more power and tire than most people.

Edit: even earlier in the thread multiple people say the stock system is essentially the same.

I can only talk from real world comparisons and i have driven a 2014 sl63 AMG with stock brakes and the 2010 sl600 on Brembo BBK and the BBK out performed the stock by a large margin. With the stock fading over a 20min run. I will say that the BBK were larger discs so not apples to apples however most people who upgrade brakes will also go to a larger size.
I also used the BBK on my E46 M3 with fantastic results. I do not know the internal changes or technical advantages however I can tell you their is no comparison. These results are on track and will probably not be relevant on the road.

Yeah, the SL is a heavier car and has more power. I'd imagine the directional cooling vanes on the Brembo rotors and the pad material gave most of that fade resistance. And no doubt that the GT kit is a big upgrade over a stock e46 M3 brake system. I do see guys running in the 2:12s (full course) with stock calipers in e46s at VIR here. They tell me they don't see the need for bigger brakes, just pads, fluid and sticky tires, but those are very light stripped out track cars. Thanks for the info on your experiences
