P88 owners get in here! Wheels and tires question.
HI all,
A few months back I swapped my 08 E63 for a C63 Edition 1 and have been pretty happy with the decision. My only real gripe is the excessively stiff ride which translates to a teeth jarring experience on our rubbish Colorado roads.
So now that my rears are down to 1mm tread I'm wondering if I can drop down to 18s and get a little more rubber on there to hopefully help the ride quality. The dealer said that 18s wouldn't clear the calipers, but I can't imagine that our brakes are different that the standard c63 calipers and I was under the impression that they came with 18 inch wheels.
If this is not possible, I'm thinking about trying to find an all season tire that will fit on the stock wheels. The dealer says that Nokian makes a Hakkapeliitta R that will fit, but this is more of a winter tire than an all season.
All I know is there's no way I'm buying more of the Continentals that were on there. 1mm tread left after 9000 miles and no burnouts is not what I'd call a good tire.
So anybody that has found a setup that they like and please chime in!!
