Weistec ECU Tune and Air Filters for my C63 BS
Well... it's starting.
So I took my car to Weistec to do a simple tune and swap out the air filters. First off, their shop is nice. Saw JRCART's two cars, Graham Rahal's C63, and Ecampbell's car. Nice cars all of them.
The tune is supposed to add approx 40-45hp at the wheels... don't know the exact torque figures. I talked to Steve who basically said they open up the throttle bodies more earlier in the rev range and adjust the mix so that the a/f ratio is not as lean as MBZ tunes them in the low rev range.
The results? Great. The difference is significant in the low rev range, where there's more power available. The throttle response is much improved and the car just feels more urgent. I love it.
I kind of thought about tracking it first before doing the tune to see how it affects the lap times... but I was down in LA and I thought I might as well do it.....
And a gratuitous shot of my car.

You don't neccesarily have to put the original tune in the car if a warranty issue were to arise. Depending on what the warranty issue is of course, you can take it from there. We will be happy to flash the ECU to the original file if something like this were to occur.
PL is the AMG Private Lounge Forum (as mentioned above). I believe I know what it is in regards to and it has nothing to do with the tune or filters.
Please let us know if there is anything we can assist with from here. Thank you!

Our tune retails for $1,190. We do have a 10% off MB World Customer Appreciation sale that ends on February 5th.

The C Black Series is in essence a P31 package. With our tune and filter combo we make right around 440-445 hp at the wheels on a Dynojet 224 chassis dyno. These cars make right around 400-410 hp at the wheels stock.
Based on customer reviews they do feel a noticeable difference as well. Please let us know how we can assist from here. Thank you!

Really? That's interesting. Why would MBZ tell people that their C63 BS makes almost 40 more hp than the C63 with P31? If that's the case, then the C63 BS really makes just 481bhp, or the C63 w P31 makes 517-9 hp?

Without getting into all kinds of detail the factory HP rating are accurate, the motors are essentially the same with or without forged internals hp wise, the differences in HP is done with tuning and throttle opening from the factory. A C63 is advertised to make 475 and an SL63 was advertised to make 525, same motors different tunes from the factory. So if an aftermarket tune takes a C63 from 475 to say 550 just for sake of conversation it's only going to take an SL63 from 525 to 550, it's not going to give the SL 50hp.
