From what I see on the first pic they are using the stock hood.
Nice job Jimmy
This car was already a beast in its previous setup. Now it's going to be a real killer.

Guys, I've a question. Is the cost of this which must be over $25,000 really worth the cost? Is it going to really do much more than a tuned C63 with headers and filters?

The only way I would say its worth it is if the tranny is also bolted up and your going to SC it. Those forged internals and the SLS cam would really do well with a SCed C63 and the SLS tranny.

if it is $25k+.....might as well send the car to Weistec and do everything i did ( Stage III with fully built tranny and lsd install....along with a few other little goodies )

If you want to stay N/A and add headers and a tune this will be a monster. The SLS engine is built for higher RPM usage and will work great road racing which is what its made for. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe a well tuned SLS with L/T headers/exhaust is mid 500's RWHP which is well above what we have.

I didnt think it was that much of a difference. Without the tranny though I would save my money.

It's a project which causes a lot of attention and that is what they were going for.
All of the labor is in-house so it's "free". They already had the C63 as their daily driver.
So the only cost was the engine itself which was probably bought used.
