"Wahhhhh the new motors suck! Wahhhh 6.2L V8 roar fo life! Wahhhh, just SC an m156 nothing can touch it. Wahhhhh I hate anything that's new!"
Now that we've got that ridiculousness out of the way, lets appreciate how badass this is and tip our hats to the AMG engineers who know a heck of a lot more than the forum jockeys. Amazing. Can't wait to get ahold of one in the new C...hmmm...

However, I'd (currently) take an M156 over it. Sure, there are faster, more efficient engines out there, but that's not what it's about. The M156 is a symbol/icon; it's the last of the greats. It is an amazing engine that we were very lucky to get in a civilian car, and we won't be seeing more of in the future.
This video isn't MB related, but it communicates the same message:
All of that aside, those are some sick numbers from AMS. They tuned my Evo to over 400hp, and look forward to their expansion into the MB world.

I agree AWD AMG. I hear you. It almost sounds like the same discussion we have with Manual Trans vs. DCT... Is the DCT faster? Yes. But can it feel like a manual to those who love Manual trans? In my case, I chose DCT in the M3 and MCT in the C, knowing it is not a true manual feeling trans. What we drive could be a very rare thing to see, truly. But I think looking at what AMS has done with M157, the AMG engineers haven't forgot their roots.
Congrats to the AMG Engineers and AMS engineers. I am starting to look at the M157 for my next car.

I wonder if this will be compatible with the new S AMG 4matic models coming out...just imagine this power at all 4 wheels! I can't wait to get back into an AMG.

Glad to see AMS getting into these motors. Love what they did in the Evo world as well.

Maybe I read too much in between the lines. I would take the M157 over the M156. The tuning potential is greater and you still can go sideways by pushing it more. We just need to tune our skills a bit more.
Better gas mileage as well which is not a deal breaker but it is a good thing.
I really could care less about doing burnouts but I would suggest that after a tune, I still think it would be possible because the rear will be getting at least 400hp.

Only the test of time will tell how long the bottom end will last. I'm not sure how the stock rot bearings are taking the boost spike
