About to factory order a C63 some Qs
I am planning to order a c63 at my local dealership and I am wondering what kind of time frame should I expect from ordering to delivery? Also how much deposit are people putting down for factory orders like this? Any rebates going on for c63 right now?

my wife bananas! :D
And dont forget, that time includes the shipping over/ clearing customs... getting to the dealer... final prep etc.
back to my commonly specc'd point, dealers would spec out cars they believe have a high chance of buying. So when a customer walks in the door and 'builds' according to the one the dealer has specced out, they can deliver it much earlier.

Nah, I hear you man but if I want to buy a car, I want to be in it yesterday. The wait would kill me.
We were looking for a car for my wife and were checking out a few cars from the Pajero to the Prado and Landcruiser to the Cayenne and Audi. Some new and some used. We were told we would have to wait 5-6 months for standard version cars because colours were not in stock. So all good colours sell and the **** colours are left and they can't sell the **** colours. Why import colours they can't sell. I don't get it.

i dont know if my dealership is giving me a load of crap, but ive had the worst experience with ordering a C63. i ordered it on 12/8/12 and they told me it would take about a month for my order to go into production and approximately 3-4 months overall for me to get it. a month and a half later, they told me that it's going to be delayed because they have a shortage of 6.3 liter engines. a little less than a month later they told me they are not building any more c63s until june due to the engine shortage. they found me a car similar to what i wanted but they would only discount it $3,500 from the msrp. not only that, they dont even take responsibility for everything that happened. they told me it was an unforeseen problem and it's not their fault. i got my deposit refunded and bought a c63 from another dealership for 5k off msrp. the main point is i dont want you to go through what i had to go through so make sure they're going to make your car.

When I ordered mine, it took about 4 month and i too put $1000 deposit. Depending on what time of year you order the car, your wait time may increase due to summer or holiday vacations. I think they shut the factory down for a month in the summer, not sure what month. Also, sometimes there's delays for some parts like carbon fiber, performance pack, etc. On average, I would say they take about 3-4 months to come in. It also can depend on your dealership's allocation availability. GL, either way it's worth it, nothing like getting a car exactly how you want it and no salesman has been farting in the seats for 6 months!

Well said Tim, that is exactly my scenario. I walked in the dealership with my options in mind.. And it happened they had the exact car I wanted on a boat in transit to them (or to another dealership?)... So I quickly gave them a deposit, 2 weeks later it was fresh of the boat. Lol

Our car took 7 months to reach us.....but it was worth the wait....."our" own special car, custom built for us, with the options, we wanted...nothing more, nothing less.....but it was specially made by AMG for US........it is a pretty good feeling.
So, whilst it's a tough wait, if you want a car with YOUR own special options.....it's definitely worth it.
Depending upon pricing, you may wish to consider the 507 edition?
Cheers, Pickles.

I ordered my C63Coupe in early January. FYI, the factory shut down for a month in December per my dealer, which is why some of you may have experienced delays. Mine is slated to arrive end of this month, since it was just built the last decade in February. So, early Jan to late March (about 72 days).

Just an update:
I went to the dealer today to put down a deposit and order my C63 coupe.
They told me the optional Olive Ash wood trim is no longer available? All the other interior trim is still there. Carbonfiber, aluminum and burl walnut.
Delivery date is in August so I have about 5 months to wait.

I also ordered my sedan in early Jan. Dealership called Mon. and said the car was built and waiting transport. Probably won't see it until mid April. Still, not a terrible wait. Discount was only 2500, so not the best, but they wouldn't discount any more. Negotiating was a bit tougher than I thought. Hopefully, there might be some incentives. No deposit. Anxious to see the car!!

These cars are in high demand boys, it seems the more congested areas in North America take a while, they don't build these cars every week of the year , my dealer ordered mine for the showroom in jan 2012, and I bought it on feb 1 2012, supposed to be built in march and get it mid April 2012, was built end of April and delivered may24, they also said that if I didn't get that one I probably wouldn't get one fully loaded till December, they are hard to get , if u want the carbon pkg or the 19 inch wheels and performance pack, they can have delays , but trust me if they could have the car to you today they would, they are in the business for selling cars not sitting in showrooms

You can pretty much find any combination you want already on the lot, or in transit, or being built already. A dealer can search the orders for all dealers and see whats inbound and if its not a sold car, then they can easily re-route it to you. If its another dealer lot across the country, they probably will ask you to pay shipping, but at least you get your car immediately.
