Because the GoPro's were mounted on the left side of the car, however they did not record this pass so all we have is the footage shown here in this video.

Most of the quick supercharged M156 times posted are from C63s or CLK's which are a few hundred pounds lighter than an E. I think you would be surprised if you lined up a Wesitec Stage 3 supercharged M156 powered E63 against a heavily modded Weistec built rwd M157 E63. I think it would be a VERY close race, too close for me to bet any money that's for sure. I think the M156 platform is maxed out where the M157 is still a somewhat new platform that tuners are still tweaking and improving. It would not surpise me to start seeing the M157 start knocking some M156's and M113's off the quickest list. Let's also not forget the availbale 4-matic in the E63 S offers an even higher level of performance.

That's quite true.
I recently had my e63 m156 gone in a crash and I am looking into buying a new one.
I love the m156, but the M157 is where the new power is at apparently.
I could either get a 2010 e63 m156 for $119 000 + 30k to supercharge.
Or spend $235 000 on a M157 and not modify it at all for a long time.
I don't know how the e63 will go with the weistec supercharger if I do go with that option.
If you have any advice for me i'm open to hearing it.
I just want a car which runs low 10s in the 1/4 and it being an amg.

Low 10's out of an E is going to be tough on either motor platform. I think mid 10's is a realistic goal for either platform. We might see low 10's out of a 4-matic E someday or maybe even a high 9.

Low 10s good luck.

E63 stage 3 would do a high 10 or low 11.

C63 if you know what ur doing could do a mid 10.

Maybe guys don't realize how fast a 10 second car is and how little street driven cars are actually into the 10s, it's very rare.

amen to that. Theres a handful of real 10 sec. daily driven cars. Pretty much all of them are tempermental and dont drive very kindly. As technology improves and the costs of these cars gets out of hand more and more are popping up. One car that comes to mind would be a gtr - w/ tune and exhaust it can run a 10 reliably without killing it's road manors. I can tell you a 10 second supra isnt something you'd want to drive every day, nor 10 sec vette or viper unless ofcourse you like break downs and like being stuck on the side of the road - cars at this level typically cost an *** load in stock form for a reason, so people mod affordable cars to try to compete - which they do, but it gets pretty expensive to make everything reliable, making the power is easy . chances of running into a 10 second car on the road are rather slim, I've ran into maybe 1 or 2 outside of a car meet or get together.

on that note i can say with the weistec kit road manors aren't compromised. however all that torque did take a toll on my transmission at relatively low miles. I've yet to even make a 10sec pass, 11.9X is our current best since we dont have a set of slicks and cant hook up, mph is in the 127+ which is in the high 10 zone. This is your perfect example of to expect when daily driving a monster and using it regularly, that and killing tires 2-3k miles for rears.

Having drivin a 4matic E, i can say it is your best bet, the awd will provide a slaughter fest off the line to any car without awd, drag slicks or drag radials with similar power. By the time they could catch you the race would be over.

Buy the M157 E63 go with a basic weistec tune only for ~3K and be basically at the performance level of a stage 2 m156 with a newer car

Mid 10's is achievable then its what I might go with the S3 package, running premium 98 octane, LT headers, row intake, 100cell cats, 3" pipe.
I would a rwd over a awd when it comes to an amg, that's my personal preference.
I might as well go for a 2010 6.3 and stage 3 it soon .
