Why C63 > E63?
I was pretty set on getting a NA E63 until I learned more about the PP on the newer C63s. A more general question that crossed my mind was why or what about the C63 made you purchase this over the E63? I do like the options on the E class more than the C, but maybe I'm looked at the C in the wrong way.

Different driving experience. C feels more agile, tossable, nimble. E is much more of a luxo-cruiser...floats more versus rides, fit and finish/comfort is much better. Comes down to what you're looking for...the C feels like a rocket go kart every day but still has room inside for 4 adults.

lol! You guys funny
But yeah E is maybe more maturish oriented than the C. Although I'm not saying all C63 owners are immature but you still feel like a kid while driving the C. So much fun .

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
We own a C63, & sinse owning it, a few of our friends have become interested in the AMG "magic", and are considering something.....well they thought they'd like a C63, but one guy is rather large (big tummy!), & the other, in the financial business, was going to use the car for business, maybe carting people around etc.
In both of these instances, I advised my friends that whilst the C63 was perfect for wifey & me, the E63 would be more suitable for them.
The C63 is perfect for us, but I think, for some people, the E63 is more practical....more interior space, a smoother ride, just generally more relaxing, if ya gonna be in the car a lot.......but of course with massive performance when ya want it.
Cheers, Pickles.

if you want aggressive and an absolute torque MONSTER
than E55 is the answer over E63
The C is more nimble 4 sure but as others have said fit & finish belongs to the E class.
the mod potential on 55's are endless.

Yup...it comes with the AMG Sport Suspension

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about the 2010-2011 sports package but I assume it's the same package without the extra hp. Does anybody have any driving time between the E63 sport package and C63?

Tell you all what.
I turned a 1:50.00 in a 2012 E63 on Laguna. Someone matches that, then you have my respect.
The deal is this... The cars are better than we are on average. The same weekend I did the 1:50, the best a amature SLS was driven was a 1:47.1. Regardless you get a C or an E you will enjoy the ride.
SLS and C63BS will do 1:37.xx on Laguna.
Tommy Kendall with him and 380 lb of passengers did a 1:45 in a 2008 C63 on Laguna. This is super human so we all have the opportunity to greatly improve.
I would consider both C and E equivalent except for those on a skill level far above average.

Good question. I was pretty set for a e63 with NA motor but have been starting to look at some c63. I do like some of the comfort options of the E class and its a bit of a trade off going to the C. I need to test drive the c63 a bit more to get a feel for it.

What's the deal with a 2013 C63 with cloth in the middle of the seats? It has the PP package but I didn't think these cars came with cloth seating. Is it alcantra?

I've driven many cars on various tracks, including all performance cars in my signature and others and can tell the difference in feel and performance between a heavy car with a softer suspension vs. its opposite and will inevitably always turn a faster time in the latter.
That being said, I'm faster on Mosport in my C63 vs. my M3, although the C63, while heavier still have more HP and torque per lb of weight. Will a well driven E63 be faster than a poorly driven C63 on a HP neutral track, absolutely. Example in case: I routinely lapped a poorly driven M6 on Mosport in my 340HP Z4MC with a ~200lb passenger and I am 210lbs (it was nimble as hell - however Mosport is a HP track). However, equal drivers, the C63 should be faster and more enjoyable to drive.
