Speedometer Lights / Dots

Does anyone know what those little lit dots on the speedometer mean?

A picture would help since it's difficult to understand which dot you are talking about?
I have a MY 09 and the only lit dot i have on the speedo is when i'm in cruise control. The dots light up from 0 until the set speed.

Yeah i have exactly the same thing except i was wrong previously since it lights up between your actual speed and 200 mph.
Not too sure why it's like this but i guess it doesn't mean anything particular. Just cosmetic

But man 25.1 mpg at 73 mph avg ??? What are you driving?

At first glance, I also thought they were cruise control speed indicator lights...not sure what it means when they're top-down.

I think it means "hit the gas and gobble up the dots". Lol. Jk, I have no idea.

No, just when the cruise control is active. A lot of people bump the cruise control stalk by accident. I know I did for the first two weeks because I would hit it while putting my signal on.
