Aus prices are ridiculous, & unexplainable, when compared to you "Lucky" US owners.
So, how do you explain we'll be paying around twice as much as you guys for our "507"......and, unbelievably.....we've still gotta pay extra for L.S.D.?!!!
Cheers, Pickles.

MBWorld Fanatic!
This reminds me of an article I read where it's cheaper for an Aussie to buy a ticket to fly to LA to buy a copy of photoshop than it is to buy it in australia via digital downloads lol.

Saw the matte grey finish at a dealer on a cls. Much preferred standard clear coat looking at the cars around it. My partner commented that the matte finish looked ugly. Matte silver might look better though.

I just looked it up and it is $A15.96 per hour. Don't forget that our overall cost of living is much higher as well.

Also every foreign vehicle entering Australia has duties on it. Thats why a lot of foreign car manufacturers make cars in Australia. Not to mentions there is GST and a luxury car tax (LCT) which levys a 33% tax on cars whose MSRP is above $60K AUD.
Australians are conditioned to pay a premium for their vehicles, as their housing and restaurants. The average plate in Sydney cost over $20 USD in any restaurant. Brisbane, a small metro australian city, the average price of a home is well north of $400K and its f*ckn boring out there. The good cities ie Melbourne and Sydney is $550K and $650K respectively. Its also worth mentioning that Australians have one of the highest home ownership ratio.
In case you were wondering about Mercedes Sales in Australia. They had their best year ever recently selling 18,000 cars. For comparison MB sells short of 300,000 cars in the US and 33,000 cars a year in Canada.
BTW Australia has a population of $22M.
Canada has a population of $34M
US populations is way more.

Minus the 19% VAT and then factoring in the Euro Car Value to US Car Value Ratio, I believe that puts the C63 Edition 507 at approximately the following US prices (however this is somewhat based upon conjecture and these values are likely incorrect):
Saloon: $70,690
Coupe: $71,740
Saloon: $70,690
Coupe: $71,740

If JamesTabletop numbers are accurate, then we can say that the 507 package is about $10,650.
The existing Performance Package is $6050 on top of a base sedan MSRP of $59800. Metallic paint, leather seating, multimedia, etc are all itemized at an additional cost.
Does anyone know what else is standard in the 507 pkg (leather seats, navigation, metallic paint)?

I don't like the gloss black spoiler and mirror caps. Looks cheap and will show scratches easily. They should have done these in carbon fibre or at least offer an option to upgrade. Very disappointed with that.

I let it eat at me a little bit at first too but I found the trade off to be fair - Being a single year edition with some very cool perks and it being the last year of a generation of the best damn sports sedans ever made, I can deal with replacing the non-cf spoiler with any of the more aggressive CF versions available.

I'm much more upset about the lack of diamond white paint and red/black interior than the gloss mirror caps and spoiler. And I can't get used to the stripes either...
