Jim, thanks for the reply, when I say big I don't mean with the fitting of the helmet. It fits just fine, it's perfectly snug. When I say big I mean it with the general overall size of the helmet, it's huge! But I am sure I am just over analyzing since I have only worn a helmet once or twice before.

Thanks

I can hardly even fit in my C BS with helmet on, the damn pano roof eats up a couple inches of head room. I was supposed to be getting a cf roof conversion done but running out of time. Might have to wait til August when the SLS arrives as I do not want the car out of commision with Spring approaching.

I was thinking the same thing I am a tall guy and my head gets close to ceiling with out a helmet. I guess that means I might have to a get a racing seat

I wish my funds were unlimited, Jim you are the man!

Is there anything I need to do with car insurance before going to the track?

LOL....wreck at the track and you are screwed, somebody slams into you and you are screwed. You can buy trackday insurance policies but they are very expensive. When you run at a track you sign a waiver saying you are responsible for your car and your car only, a race track is not like driving on the road when some geu slams into his insurance pays, on the race track he slams into you and says sorry and walks away and you have no legal recourse. If you want to play you better be ready to pay.

^^

I haven't seen a wreck yet, but I'm sure it happens. Not only are you not covered, but your insurance will go through the roof if they find out or they'll give you the boot.

No Jake, that's covered., Its when YOURE actually ON the track and competing that its NOT covered. If you're ON the way to the track and leaving, you're good.

I'm not in Chicago but it's only about 2.5-3 hrs away....

I'd be down to be included on distribution lists and do my damndest to make it - I live for driving and track time. :-)

BTW, to those who responded to this thread, do you have any guidance on insurance that covers you and your car on the track?

Have struck out with my broker and don't know where to turn next.

Thanks!

Thanks JR - honestly figured you'd be the one to respond, LOL....

Always a wealth of knowledge!

I fundamentally agree with you as nothing has happened in the past, but it doesn't mean that it will moving forward, and I'd rather be safe than sorry...

I think a few thousand dollars is worth the downside risk.

The probability that I will file a claim is however still extremely low.

Thanks again!
