Michelin PSS 275s on stock 18" rims - feels wrong....
#28
Do you think 19" oem rims will be fine with 275 PSS?? Seems that the 18" rims may have more of an issue.
I've read many threads that with the 19" oem multi-spoke rims the 275 PSS worked well without any complaints..

Curious about this too as my rears have been disappearing at an alarming rate since I bought the car ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Thinking 265R and 245F should be good to go on the OEM 19" multispokes?

I believe member gthal has 275/30 on his multispoke w/o any issues. It should handle much better than on the OEM 18''s due to the thinner sidewalls.

I run 275 Vredstein Wintrak on OEM 19 multi spoke, no issues. Fitted 275 Goodyear Eagle F1s to my 10in HREs and am getting some slight rubbing on hard corner.

Both the 18" and 19" OEM C63 AMG wheels run an 8" front and a 9" rear so nothing wrong with fitting a 275 on the 9" rear on the 18". It may seem a bit weird on an 18" but it's no more different than it is on the 19". Are you going with a 275/35 or 275/30? THe 35 on the 18" will fill the arches a lot nicer than the 30.

I am still debating 275 vs 265 width for PSS tires..

I was referring to the 18".
Both stock 18 and 19" rims are same width and a 275 fits perfectly on both. Don't know who's saying they don't fit or they're dangerous... It's fine.
I was asking the OP about the size. If he was going for a 275/30/18 or a 275/25/18. Just curious.
As for the 19", no, 275/35/ too big for stock arches on the rear

so bottom line is, you COULD run a 275 on the 18's.. but you shouldn't..
Many members obviously do it, but i guess it's up to preference.. and how you want the car to feel in the turns?
265's would be safe all around, correct?

I feel that 275s on 18" wheels is optimal for drag racing (with drag radials being the exception), and not so much for street/daily driving.
I'm running 265s ContiExtremeContactDW and they run pretty smooth; even in the corners. I think I'm going to give PSS a try once I go through my current set...I've heard too much good things about them not to.

Should the front tires be moved up to 245 if the rears are at 265 on the stock 18s? I currently have 265/35/18 PSS on the rears with the stock 235 fronts but will need a new pair up front soon.
Was thinking 245/40/18 or 235/40/18 PSS any recommendations?

I have just fitted 265,s to my standard 19" multispokes and I am experiencing the soft feeling at the back end.
I don't think it's the wider tyre that's the issue but the PSS, the grip is amazing but the backend feels like marshmallow !! I don't think I'll be using them again because I have no confidence at speed

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I am in the process of buying a used C63 and wanted to know the optimal combination of front and rear PSS 18 inch tires for optimal grip and comfort. What would you guys recommend?

Front: 245/40/18
Rear: 265/35/18
This appears to be an improvement over stock without potential problems.

That seems to be the best compromise. Wouldn't 275 better for the rear though? I really don't care about the bulgy looks as long as performance is better. What difference do the front tire size make?

Larger than 265 can cause issues with sidewall flex as well as potentially creating problems with traction control, and rubbing with a full load in the rear. I like upsizing the front to put a bit more rubber on the road, as well as a more balanced look and feel. Take my observations for what they are.

I have put 275 hancook v12 Evo on a 8.5" wide 19" rim and did feel some sidewall flex but it wasnt really bad or anything. I did autocross the car. I think 275 on the stock 9" rim is not necessarily a wise thing to do however IME you shouldn't have any problems with it.
At the end of the day however its only a 10mm difference per tire which is not something you will feel on the street grip wise to be a massive improvement. Better to just go 265 width.
