Red caliper brakes?

Hi,
I just bought a used C63 salloon (2008) (regular model without Performance Package) and it has red caliper brakes labeled simply AMG. For what I know, these are not standard brakes. Can anyone identify them, what is the difference compared to the stock ones?

Btw. C63 is amazing piece of engineering!

They were likely just painted. I bought a 2009 and the dealership had simply painted the calipers red.

I was told at the Mercedes Benz dealer that this car's brakes were upgraded directly in Affalterbach some 2 years into the life of the car. I hope this 'upgrade' was not just a paint job

GT2 C63 and yo sister
I thought the red calipers indicated either the P30 suspension with brake upgrade or the p31 perf package which also includes upgraded brakes, thus red calipers are a sign of upgraded brakes

In some cases like the E63 red calipers are included in the "performance package", the difference on this package are the increase in maximum capacity by 32 HP and torque by 100 Nm, AMG engine cover in real carbon, Red painted caliper, AMG trailing edge on bolt lid in real carbon, electric roller blind for rear window, AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather around handle made of alcantara, as you can see red calipers are not just that when came from factory, but this is the case on a E63

p30 and p31 brake upgrades were - 2 piece rotors, same size

p30 (08-09) did not paint calipers
p31 (10- pres) paint red
but no differences in calipers

as prviously mentioned by fung

P30 is a floating two piece rotor (Called composite by MB)
P31 is a solid two piece rotor.

Calipers are the exact same like mentioned above.

OK, just trying to sum up things said above, I consider that my brakes are aftermarket upgraded to ones that are normally part P31 perf. package. Correct?

Btw. they look absolutely like the ones on the C63 Coupe on top banner of this forum.

they wouldn't be aftermarket if they were P30
Just look at the rotors P30 = 2piece
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, the 2 piece are just more expensive to replace, no real benefit since noone keeps the hats.
