H&R Coilovers Installed - Not Quite Happy Yet

Just had the H&R system installed yesterday with my new PUR 4OUR wheels with PSS (275/30 & 245/35) and now regret not going KW V3, as I believe it has adjustable hats while the H&R does not.

My shop ended up not beiing able to match the front left camber to the right and couldnt get better than -2.5 degrees (which is out of spec) vs -1.8 on the right. The shop indicated that it was their experience that C-Class cars typically have more negative camber on the left than on the right?? Not sure how bad a discrepancy .6 degrees is or the comment about the left vs right. Can anyone comment?

In addition, they also didnt lower the rears enough for my liking (just a bit lower than stock and I beleive there is still atleast an inch or more of adjustment. Apparently the H&Rs are a pita to adjust, as it is not just a matter of wheel removal and using the wrenches.

I think I will go back and have them lower the rear

Camber specs will lead to faster tire wear.

My car had more camber on the left than the right front and rear after installing H&R springs. I just installed front camber and caster bushings from K-MAC and had the front aligned. Much better now and no more pull to the right so far. Steering feels good to. Need more time on it to really assess but the weather here is still winter. Snowing here as I write this.

Tell your shop to install front camber bolts (also called crash bolts). That should let you get back to a stock alignment. The height on the rears of the H&R are really easy to adjust since they sit on top of the spring and not around the shock. In the rear there is no factory camber adjustment. Too much lowering and you make an already bad tire wear situation even worse. However there is a solution. Rear upper links that allow camber adjustment. ACG in San Diego sells them. Ask for Sean. I don't know who your shop its, but it seems like they don't know much about MBZ.

U shouldn't have let them do the alignment before being satisfied of the height.. Cuz once u lower the rear again, u will have to do the alignment again... Unless they will do it for free the second time.

What's the rear specs, looks aggressive.. Any rubbing?

Specs

Shop is Altech Automotive in Etobicoke, they come highly recommended by the BMW community in Toronto and one of the owners has a CL63 and he has certainly worked on other C63s.

Specs post install & allignment:

FRONT

Caster: R 11.1 L 11.1

Camber R -1.8 L -2.4

Toe R .15 L 0.15

REAR

Camber R -1.9 L -1.8

Toe R 0.15 L 0.1

Thrust Angle 0.25

All are within spec except the front left camber

Definitely going to ask them to lower further. I will give it a week to see if there is any settlement, but the photos were with a full tank and it wasnt much lower with 220 lbs of passengers in the rear and the original suspension in the trunk

It took me ages to pick out the wheels and I am totally happy with them! Thanks for the comments. Car is going back to the alignment shop next week to have camber bolts installed on the front and to lower a bit more!
