Recommend Roads in Chicago
Dear Chicago Residents
Ill be visiting early May when I head back from the AMG academy in Wisconsin.
So I am wondering if there are any roads that are good for us AMG owners?
Also what areas to avoid based on cops and other issues?
Thanks!

You have to go 50 miles south or west of Chicago to find anything decent. There are nice little stretches closer to the city but too congested to have any fun. On your way back from Road America try hitting up Sheridan Road, it is a scenic route along Lake Michigan from just south if Milwaukee to downtown Chicago, it actually become the famous LSD or Lake Shore Drive. It is scenic and there are some fun twistie sections which are usually open enough to reach some fun speeds. The there is the imfamous Bluff Road, nice and twistie but only a few miles long then its over. It is imfamous becuase a lot of people have crashed and burned and a few died there.
You can also find a route from central Wisconsin that runs along the Fox River, not sure what its called in Wisconsin but in IL you can run route 25 or 31 along the east and west side of the river. There are some fun sections but usually too congested to run more than 10mph over posted limit.
Whuch days are you doing Diving Acadamy? I will be there this Sat and Sun.

Also, along that route you will be a couple miles from the Harley Davidson headquarters and one of their factories, they give free tours. If bikes are not your thing a few blocks away is the Miller Brewing Compnay and they offer tours. You will also pass right by the Jelly Belly factory on the border of WI and IL along that route, they also offer free tours and free samples.

There are some great stretches of highway on the the 294 and 94. Smooth highway roads down from WI. But be careful lots of state troopers hiding in the bushes.
Whatever you do, do not EVER eat at a place called Uncle Mikes. Worst food and service on the planet...even though its a bar.
