507?
I have a 2012 C63 sedan that is now 15 months old with 9,200 kms on it. I have been fiddling with the idea of trading it in on the 507 but my mind keeps wondering if I ought to wait until 2015 for the new model. The 507 with a diff and a few bits on it comes out at circa $195k and the dealer has offered me $115k for mine.
I am torn between thinking the 507 may become a collectible and the knowledge that AMG would not replace our car with an inferior model in 2015.
If I do the deal I will have dropped circa $60k on the car in a relatively short time but frankly that is not an issue for me.
What do you guys think? Will the 507 become a collectible?

I personally see the 507 as an "almost Black Series C-class" and I don't think it's worth the extra bucks.
I would compare it to an Edition 1 or the Canadian Affalterbach Edition.

I would definitely wait for the new technology I have a 2011 with ultra low miles that I am gonna trade in for the new car. It will be faster better and the interior will be way ahead of the current model. Think of also all the new technology that will be in place by then.

2012 C63 AMG BS, 2010 DUCATI 1198S
I also agree. The 507 is in the same category as the Edition 1. Although I read some where that the 507 is replacing the performance package. So you either get a standard model (451 HP), the 507 Edition (507 HP), or the Black Series (510 HP). If you like the look of the 507, get a standard C63, order the BS hood, and get an ECU tune. It'll be cheaper, and you'll get better performance from an aftermarket ECU tune. Or just get the BS if you want something that might be considered a collectible in the future. There's still a few out there for sale.

I think, all things considered, i will wait until 2015 as i am sure the new car will be superior in several ways.
All the best.

I like the 507 but I like a lot of cars!! I do think it is a run out special to get ready for the new model.
I am not "due" to replace my current car until next year by which time we will know what the new model is all about. I figure that if I was still keen on the 507 Edition there will be a few floating around that dealers would be keen to shift to make way for the new model. The only catch is that by leaving it late you might not be able to order the exact spec you want and have to choose from the pool of "popular" spec cars ordered by dealers.
The elephant in the room for me so to speak is the new E63, and at this stage, I am leaning pretty heavily towards it.

That's good advice Jimmy. I like the size of the C over the E as it is not our family car, just a car i use for commuting to work.
I have been pondering the new 911 but i love the sound of the C.
I will wait and obtain more info on the new model before i do anything. All the best mate and thanks.
By the way can you believe these morons we have in Canberra? i own a large national business and trying to plan in the face of some of the changing positions of Gillard and Co is difficult.
I remember a quote from Thomas Jefferson from when i was at school "Democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work to give to those who are not".
