its probably just intake manifold gaskets. What are the odds of both o2 sensors just all of a sudden going bad at the exact same time? not common at all. Not having the extended warranty isnt a big deal. the 63's dont have alot of issues. you'll probably be saving yourself money in the long run. you should go ahead and consider doing some spark plugs while your at it and with 50k. the flashing means misfiring - it probably didnt happen enough to throw a hard code that your generic ob2 scanner will read but im sure the benz one would pick it up. ignition coils? those go bad about as often as injectors. this isnt an audi

dont count on an hour. The dealership process is so inefficient. write up paper work... takes 30min to reach the tech, tech has to have open bay to work on car. tech must get keys.... and find car. oh wait the valet didnt write down where they parked it... etc... Id say maybe you'll know by noon depending on how busy they are.

Not this guy. I had him investigate a crackling noise from my speakers and he called me within 15 minutes to show me what he found. I trust him.
James, I'll drop off my car first thing. I won't be there for the whole time since I can walk home, but let me know and maybe we can still meet up.

Thanks, Sid.
Yeah, I'm already familiar with all of the entrances into the dealership ever since I exited onto Broadway and popped a V-band clamp on that steep ramp. I've already been to the entrance on Pine the last time I went a few weeks ago.

Never had a 02 sensor cause a misfire. Ever. Seen them throw AFRs off and cause an odd idle/gas mileage but not a flashing CEL. Flashing CEL is a live misfire, if you can catch what cylinder its coming from you could swap plugs and/or coil packs to see if that misfire "jumps" to another cylinder.

Just dropped my car off. David said since these cars have come out, he's never seen an O2 sensor go bad. That's all I have for now. They're starting on my car as soon as possible.

According to the SA, these are two completely separate issues. The intake manifold has its own set of bolts, of which I will be getting new ones. He said he's only seen the headbolt issues on 2 AMG engines so far, and both were driven considerably less and less hard than mine. He thinks I got a good batch otherwise the issue would have popped up by now.
I'm looking at $557.76, which is not that bad (that was a ballpark cost from a local Indy shop I trust). Most of it is labor and they helped me out by low-balling the hours a bit and waiving the diagnostic charge since I'm going ahead with the repairs with them. Fortunately, they have everything in stock so they're starting on it now. Unfortunately, it won't be finished until tomorrow, but I'm totally okay with that as long as the repairs are done and done well.

Awesome, I thought you had to replace the intake manifold not just the bolts... it would've cost you more than 4k... Dealership in Manhattan tried to rip me off by saying it was leaking, I took it to an indy shop they did a smoke test and it wasn't even leaking lol.
Looks like you're being taken care of right, make sure to take care of the SA when you get your car, you'll need him in the future, specially if you don't have an extended warranty.

cool, minh. glad you'll have your beast terrorizing the east bay again sooner rather than later.
i had a leaking intake manifold fixed under warranty a few months ago. symptom for me was a whistling sound.
and i agree with your SA (of course) ... intake gaskets and bolts are completely separate from the head gasket and bolts.
PS. it would probably be good to research and find a good indie shop near you. i have a friend who has an indie shop in the south bay, if you're ever in a pinch.
