991 GT3- because what Chris Harris has told us so far, awesome 991 chassis, AND 9K RPM REDLINE. The only downside I can think of is that the GT3 will be overshadowed by the GT3 RS, whenever that debuts.

The current gen GT500 is on its way out of production soon and its simply not as special as the GT3.

how is this even a comparison or a consideration? unless the ford is a "ford gt", its just another ford.

Another vote for the GT500SS. I like the lines of the red car that was posted but the looks of gold/copper are horrible.

1) your dream car
2) Exclusive. Super Snakes are very rare so it will have better resale value down the road than the Porsche
3) cheap to own (low maintenance costs)

the mere fact that you would even consider a ford mustang and a 991 gt3 to be on the same level shows that your not ready for the power and handling of a gt3.

buy the 'HOHUM ' mustang

You must read my intro again. It is def. not a comparison !!
These are quite the opposities actually.

Its german tech vs US brute force. And its the same in my mind : passion vs reason.
I SHOULD get the 991 but I WANT the Shelby.....
The GT3 will get shadowed by the RS.
The GT500SS is one of the lasts crazy Shelby ( in this form as Ford announced big changes to accomodate EU countries - and that means less power .. )

I think I'm gonna take the 500. I'll always be able to buy a GT3 down the road. I probably can't say the same for the Shelby...

Thanks to all for your inputs.

Lol! Yeah because the supersnake only has a minimum of 200+ hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque more than the porsche.

whatd you join just to post this? The mustang probably accelerates great once it hooks up, but just like a corvette there is no getting past the cheap ****ty interiors. comparing a mass produced car to a special order hand built car is hardly a comparison. I wouldnt even consider that mustang except for the fact that its your dream car. All i can say with your wallet is dream bigger... go get you an f40 or something really badass to go with your sls bs. or consider a supercharger kit for your c63 bs to bring back the excitement. They do feel way under powered when they handle that good. 500 wheel insta-torque will bring back the love. going from an amazing handling car to a jello american car will bring disappointment.

If you pick one up, bump this thread with some pictures. Definitely a cool and unique car with history, and might even be the last Mustang to carry the Shelby name, as I hear the next gen will simply be SVT Mustangs.
