on every bmw i had: e46m3 , e92 335i or M3 i could programming the software with my laptop and NCS EXPERT TOOL.
it was very simple ,because i read the text messages out of the car like this:
I asked this on my old C350 coupe and I worked for the dealership. They looked through everything and short of trying to rewire it all together, it seems like it was not possible.
LOL I must be godly. I have had my C LED set to ON for over a year. It is on when the car is on regardless if headlights are off during the day or off at night by moving the switch to the left. I love driving around at night with the DRL, C LED and illuminated star on and low beam off. You can also change the DRL brightness, during the day they are set to 100% brightness, but at night they reduce to 5%, I have mine set to 40% brightness at night because anything higher than that will make it look like two aftermarket LED bars. This can all be done with MB STAR Diagnostic and Vediamo.
Edit: You can see on my sig that they are on and the car was on during the day.

Could you please share some more details about where in the menu this needs to be programmed or anything?

So since you know how to do this in STAR Diagnostic and Vediamo, do you want to outline the steps so others can do the same?
In Vediamo you need to open the Front SAM SAMF_172 control unit and flash under VCD_Parameter_Tagfahrlicht the parameter PLSM_TFL_AVL to Ja (Yes) which is set to Nein (No).
I gave it a shot after some testing I was able to hard wire the C leds to the DRL lights.
All you need to do is tap the gray/white wire at the Headlights Plug to the DRL lights green/gray cable.
Please dont use scotch-locks on any car wiring, and definitely not where protection from weather/water/corrosion is necessary. If anyone is local to DFW texas and needs something like this done , I've got equipment for programming it. Thanks for sharing the exact settings to change!
I done everything you outlined, but the right side flickers a few times then goes out completely. Did you need any resistors or anything to keep them going or do yours do the same after a short while?
Help!! Having the same issue and not sure how to resolve!
