H&R spring guys pads or no pads?
Hello,
I am going to be installing my springs tomorrow and have been noticing some people use the spring pads and some people don't. I do not plan on getting 19's and rarely ride with people in the back and or stuff in the trunk. Please chime in on your experience with and or without the pads. I wouldn't mind it to be a little lower.
Thanks,

If you dont mind the rear to be a little lower than the front, use the OEM spring pads. or else go to the stealership & buy the 17mm thicker pads, around 20$ for the pair.
Look at my sig pic... this is with the thicker pads.

I installed my H&R springs a few weeks ago and didn't use the thinker pads.
I don't really notice the difference between the front and rear height. I've been loading the car with groceries = no rubbing.
The only time i rubbed was with 2 adults in the front, 2 kids in the back and groceries in the trunk. I was rubbing on bumpy roads, on clean asphalt no problem. My experience so far.

I was in the same boat, stuck with the oe pads. Rear sits a little lower but doesn't look bad. Just wish the front was a little lower. I don't rub much and I am running pretty agressive rear offset on the BBS wheels. Car is a DD and it is only in canyons and huge bumps do I get rubbing.

^^ just the rear. No need for ebay link, just go to your dealership parts counter... they are very cheap, 20$ for the pair.

is it worth lowering? the ride is kinda already rough in my 09, pretty sure my 09 has the sport suspension, because i've driven in another 2013-ish C63 and it felt really smooth compared to mine, like the other c63 had a floating feeling..mine i feel every bump in the road and the car is super stiff...just curious as if it gets any more stiff? i dont want whiplash lol

Dont mind the title , pads or no pads.... I wanna use the 17mm but they were saying that the stock pads are 12mm but my stock pads part number is a2103250184 so IDK , my car has 17mm instead of the 12mm

Just wanted to share, my P30 came in with stiff suspension. Round corners, its excellent but stiff. Had her lowered with H&R springs last year and man, the difference was so good. I can't compare it with other coil overs but the ride is much smoother (softer) compared to the OEM sports suspension for the P30 and it looks superb with the lowered suspension. Others opted to replace the pads with the 17mm, I didn't and I still don't get rubbing.

weighing in a little late here but definitely pads. Stock pads are actually level, but don't look like it cos of the different cut of the wheels wells. Gives you a droopy butt.
Thicker pads are just whats required, gives a nice rake look. Also, I found as bonus, it was just enough boost to keep me from dragging on a particularly pesky parkade entrance at my office. It was the only one where it did, but it did so twice (or more) a day.

Anyhow, unless u are running +55mm in the rear, u will rub with the springs. 265 in the front sounds wide too, so clearance will be tight. Post a pic of ur car from the back showing the wheels sideways .
