2015 C63 to have 480hp....

Now what does that mean? C63 is going to become a C40? Like..C63 V8 6.3 engine produces a great power + a great sound. I wonder if the push is going to be faster in the 4.0 engine + The sound too.

i like how they say the slk55 engine is due for replacing its brand new. Im sure the c63 info is good, i doubt the sls will get the 4.0L though.

If a 4.0TT V8 is good enough to be stuffed under the hood of a near 4700lbs full size Audi S8. I am sure that AMG would be able to build one that would bury the 6.2.

That's a very good point! The Audi's 4.0TT is a marvel in technology and competes very well with the AMG M157 motor in stock guise. With that being said I have no doubt that AMG will create an engine that is at least as good if not better even if it is detuned initially. I have a feeling that this engine will respond to tunes just as favorably as the AMG 5.5TT.

Also exhaust notes really depend on what type of exhaust setup you have. I seen a guy with an Audi S5 that is louder then my stock C63 exhaust. I believe it's some aftermarket German company.

That being said, I really do like the sound of the 4.2 V8's Audi makes, in all guises.

90% of the sound is determined by the exhaust tuning. The 6.2 doesn't sound like a BBC in my opinion.

Now my new favorite engine sound is from the Jag's new F-Type V8. If you haven't heard that engine roar yet. Do yourself a favor and look it up. It sounds glorious!

Exhaust tuning does account for how the inherent sound of a motor is presented and is a major factor, however all motors have a unique sound and exhaust combinations simply alter that sound. With ITBs or less intake restriction, one always hears the sound of the motor from the intake side and they don't all sound within 90% of each other to be modified by an exhaust.

I agree the Audi V8's sound great. The 63 motors sound really good too and probably a little better compared to a stock HO 4.2 engine, but I think Audi V8's sound just a little bit better when fully modded. These engines sound much bigger than they actually are.

I like the Audi 4.2s a lot, but prefer the M156. I prefer the Audi to the S65B40 though, both Audi V8 variants.
