Didn't someone just post this like two days ago? Get an OEM one and tweak it to fit. Search the forums and you can find some helpful instructions.

^^ true to that.. I was looking for one as well, but none of them fit the C63. I guess you will have to buy it from the stealership. Or buy the CF version from BOCA or Revozport.

I wonder if there is any way to modify our existing grill and convert it to a single-bar.

i just got the oem 2012 grill and a shop installed it on my 2010. needed a little modding they said. and it doesn't sit 100% flush on the bottom left and right corners. but it's hardly noticeable unless you're looking for it. and since i had it painted glossy black, it's even less noticeable.

I've seen that solution, but I don't want to spend $500+ on something so subtle.

There are folks here that have done that, but no one is willing to post close-up shots with hood open. My guess is that it doesn't look very good up close.

The difference between my grill and the OEM, is that my grill doesn't have the chrome ring all the way around the outside. That's why the OEM can look a little weird even after its modded.

You have to take a dremmel and trim the bottom lip (that's not seen) that's under the grill and that clips into the bumper

this is a close-up shot...

Thanks for that shot. what about on the top? Does the black plastic frame around the grill fit against the hood lip? or is the top of the grill tucked under the hood? do you have a close'up shot of that area, preferably from the side?

BTW, I prefer your SL63 style compared to the OEM one with the chrome ring all the way around.

I don't have anymore shots...I sold the car over a year ago...I did the grill over 4 years ago (way before there was even an OEM facelift grill). The top tucks in under the hood. You have to take your factory chrome hood lip off

that's very helpful. If I get bored, I might try this. My dremel's gathering dust in my basement.
